  just to say a big hello.

  i have been reading this site for some time now and have been very unhappy with some of the things emanating from watchtower head quarters in new york.

  the final straw for me is the upcoming watchtower study this weekend encouraging us to shun our own family members (our own mothers if need be) if they are disfellowshipped....a step too far for my liking.

  Why are witnesses all so highly stressed?

  witnesses are so anxious, stressed, highly strung..... so much for ones who are supposed to be "the happiest people"..... thoughts?.

  Oh and as Jesus said, the Sabbath was made for humans; humans weren't made for the Sabbath. ie. It was made so humans would take a day off to rest (but you could still do good on it).

  JWs need some REST and relaxation time as they have none. Even Jesus went off for some alone time.

  Well, some were promised the New System would be here by now and gave up everything. Some didn't marry or have children. Now when they go home from meetings and such, there's no one there. No one whose hand there is to hold in their golden years, no children to help them when needed. Very little monetarily. Lifelong friends may longer be living.

  Couple that with knowing the "society" does nothing to care for widows and orphans. Absolutely nothing. Loneliness.

  The young are trying to support themselves or families in a recession. No higher education to help out. Tasks from the GB, time consuming religious activities, little rest or me time, bills, constant pressure to display "spirituality, gossips, brow beatings, and more never-ending burdens. No "New System" that they're never doing enough to get into or relief in sight. Boots on their necks strangling them. Couple that with everyone wanting some of their hard earned money, including the WTBTS. Immense pressure.

  Most don't even know who they are anymore. Split personalities. One for meetings and one for home. No asking for help, don't want to get labeled "weak".

  I'd be on anti depressants too.

  A New Words With Friends Player Just Told Me That She Was a Jehovah's Witness And That's Why She's So Smart!

  i saw she went under the handle of lovejahforever.....she said she is very smart and had cleaning jobs and was going in the ministry this morning.. when she told me she looked forward to beating me (she won the first game) she sid she was smart because she's a jehovah's witness.

  my response was we will see how smart she is.. what next?

  be it the governing body, or the a judicial committee of the local elder body, when a two-thirds majority vote is reached, it is viewed as god’s will, as the action of holy spirit, of jesus nudging the stars in his right hand.

  [and if i’m not mistaken, the minority is encouraged to change their vote, so that is “unanimous”.

  anthony morris alluded to this when he unsuccessfully tried to explain why the governing body is not dogmatic.

  That info from Franz, yep. It's akin to wanting all the authority but none of the responsibility.

  This is why their (GB) claim of being the "faithful and discreet slave" is bunk. In every parable, each individual "slave" is held responsible for the decision made and action taken.

  No group assessment and no blame placing.

  it has been 21 years since the 1995 article that pretty much buried the idea of the '1914 generation'.. remember those guys?

  the ones born in 1914 that would still be alive when the end of the system arrived.. i'm glad i'm old enough to remember going from door to door, preaching this belief.

  the reason i say that is because i have a lot of 'still in' jw friends and family.

  after reading the content of the 1 day assembly on another post, please tell me wt are trying to suggest members cant follow super hero movies/characters etc.

  the whole of my ex family wouldnt have a life if this happened!

  surely a wake up call for them....... but doubt it

  You mean like Christ and Angels? Mankind's savior/ hero and his extra terrestrial family. Yeah, ok.

  If it ain't a Biblical NT restriction then use your own discretion about what to like. If you need someone else to tell you what to think about every little thing; you're just too stupid to possess free will or a reasoning mind.

  Weird how they claim "Bible trained" minds yet are afraid to let those trained minds think for themselves. It's an admission that their Bible training is sorely insufficient. 

  A "Bible trained" JW is like a 50 yr old man still living in his parents basement.
