Yes it does to me. And it was a cross the dubs are the ones that started this ask them. They want to be different then everybody else. this sight has reference to a lot of info or answers backing the belief in the cross vs stake. The wbts took a lot of quack pot (or crack pot) ideas and ran with them. look at there references to greber.

dos it really matter if it was a cross or a stake???
by highdose inwhat does it matter?
i belive its been found that the romans used both, so what does it matter?.
what does it matter that the roman word for cross sounds also like a word for another god?.

I feel for you but I personally won't let them tell me what to do, but I myst admit at 1st i did also find it hard how to handle what to say and how to say it. If you still love the bible duet. 18:22 should give you courage it does me.

Sex at 14?
by headisspinning inhello all.... some of you have been following our story from the beginning - and even those of you who haven't should be able to relate to my quandary.... last week my 14 year old son told me he no longer wants to be a jw.
we laboured over telling his jw dad all week.
well, on friday night he finally came clean.. but in a bizarre and unexpected twist, after having sex with his girlfriend for the very first time - in his father's home that very afternoon.

Is it too late to get him interested in karate or martial arts the gym. Is he interested in college after high school? not taking away from any other comment , but to add to them.like others said and you have said do that but also maybe see if you can spark an interest in other things too. I mean I maybe can"t speak from great experience my dad no lie would have killed me or come pretty close. and my son is 8 so I havent hit that gauntlet yet.

The GB tightening their grip! Straw to break a camel's back?
by punkofnice ini post on a couple of forums and read and lurk and all that stuff.. a theme that seems to be gaining momentum is about how the gb are 'tightening their grip' and 'becoming more cultish'.. i don't read the publications anymore and oddly i read extracts of them on the forums.. punk is babbling now.............sorry...................my questions are (sorry if they're a bit long.
sorry if i sound like satan: 'is it really so?
' but then i am a mentally diseased apostate).. 1. are the gb really tightening their grip or is it just the same as it ever was........but..........we just notice the propaganda more now we're out?.

Great thread. I've bee wondering this myself. I agree it is probably all three, but want them to fail or being exposed, you know others to find freedom.

JWs who do a "disappearing act" because of damaging gossip and trouble in the hall
by LongHairGal ini know of a few jw friends who from time to time have to do a disappearing act from their hall.
one jw finds a "reason" to leave town to visit relatives and another jw would go to "visit" another hall in a nearby vicinity.
in all honesty, they are fleeing from the strife in the kingdom hall when they are in the spotlight.

Or they say wait on jehovah to clear up the rumors. Funny thing is we're still waiting.

A bro in my field who held management positions in my field, had a repuatation for doing coke and getting drunk oh and being a royal/bloody a$$#0\e. I never liked him he seemed 2 faced even before the rumors. I was really trying to be a dub and I hated having to explain we're not all like him. He too got def'd for some of it but the rumors I heard were after his reinstatement. Funny how most of us not in seem more honest than those in.

If this doesn't scream cult, what does?

Its like a bad magician with poor slight of hand skills. Like the cat dressed as a mouse on that cartoon movie where he says after his costume is being exposed, " who are you gonna believe me or your own eyes". I can't believe I fell for this stuff.

I bet if a witness saw this in a different organizations literature they would notice, but let it come from wbts and they turn to zombies. Like a sort of hypnotic phrase.

K.I.S.S. Keep it simple (for the) STUPID! Considering 1914 anew
by Terry inhave you ever seen a stop sign?.
what if it were a "decelerate until stationary!
"sign, instead?.

Yes terry I liked that. You said it better than I could've. What gets me is a lot of elders I knew thought they were/or think they are really smart, but still don't see or question this at all. Frankly I always have questioned these mathematical gymnastics. These are the threads I come here for. I learn from this stuff
