Sharon's memorial
by Mulan inthe memorial for my cousin, sharon, who died of breast cancer on september 6, was yesterday.
it was standing room only, and it was obvious how many people really loved her.
i couldn't help but think of all the absent ones, who had been her lifelong friends, and how sad it was that they stayed away.

Mulan,
I was in tears when reading this. I read Sharons web page a few months ago and really admired her.
The two witnesses who left the service...........My hope is that they too will realize what kind of "loving" religion they are in, and soon leave themselves.
I really hope there is a Heaven, and that Sharon is looking down at you, so she can really see the love you have for her.
God bless.

Hi Tru,
Welcome to the board.
I personally do not feel one needs to belong to an organization. I believe this is what the Bible is telling us when it states "Get out of her my people" To get out of organized religion.
Also, 1st John 2:27 tells us that we do not need that man teach us. Holy Spirit is what teaches us. The Bible also tells us that he gives his Spirit to those asking.

Why did you have children (or not)?
by JustAThought inok, after reading some of the responses in the mental health and depression forum ... and of the mormons' urging of their followers to have large families, ... and participating in the discussion on the costs associated with having and raising children, ... the question comes up ... .
for those of you with children or not, or those contemplating having children or not, ... what factors did/do you consider in making your decision (or, was there any decision-making involved)?.
do you think children, largely, are just a by-product of sexual activity between fertile men and women, ... or are there other, deeper issues involved?.

I planned my first child but the last two were unexpected. Goes to show you that condems don't always work.
Is there a way I can give them back?

Farkel and Comf, I feel honored. Both of you replied to my post...
Comf you are so right......Don't think that your own perception must of necessity be wrong and ours right any time they don't match. If you learn only one thing from me, I hope it will be to believe in yourself and rely on yourself
I have always felt unsure of myself, and wonder sometime if what I have to say is worth saying. That is why I tend to lurk more than post here. I think my grandmother is the reason I am this wayas, when I was a child she always said that children are to be seen and not heard. I took it to heart.
I am generaly a shy person until I get to know someone. Then when I feel comfortable, I will open up and share my thoughts. I hate rejection and if a person responds to my post in a negitive way, I take it personal and feel rejected. I am working on that but it is slow going.
Anyway, I do have deep respect for you and Farkel (Doug) and I will continue to have that respect even when we disagree......

well, the reason I say this is because most Lawyers who try a case that has not been tried before usually refer to other simular cases that were victorious. Correct me if I'm wrong.

This is great! When the victims go to court against the WT, the Lawyers can refer to this case.
