What used to worry you the most about the great trib and Armageddon?
by Julia Orwell ini worried most about losing my dear family, but i also had silly worries like, what would happen to my pets?
say i didn't have a chance to let the cats out, they would starve inside my house.
and what if people were so starving because of the big gt famine and stole my chickens!

What do you believe about the bible?
by bethelyellowdollarbag ini'm interested in how we all view the bible?.
let me start by offering three different options:.
a.. a book that at best may have cultural or historical interest but that is it.. b.. a divinely inspired guide that i consult to make important life choices.

As a freeminded christian I just leave the bible on the shelf for right now, also I'll go to church during the holidays at a non denominational church, I used to go to a baptist church but just am too burned at looking into the bible for right now.

The JW Dress Code
by sacolton infor the brothers .... suit jacket and pants must always match as part of a complete suit.sport jacket and slacks not permitted.shoes must be polished (i had to go home and change shoes once).shirt should be white or close to white (i.e.
no dark colored dress shirts).do not wear bright colored suits or suits with more than one color (not including pin stripes).tie should not be bright colored or have too many colors.pants should have cuffs (this was recommended, not a rule).suit jacket must be buttoned up at all times (although you may wait until you begin speaking to button up your jacket).never put your hand in your pocket, even for one second.legs must be close together (his exact words were "do not have a horse stance").heels must be together but toes should be slightly apartif you are holding a microphone, the microphone must be point just above the chin, not at the mouth.if you are holding a microphone, do not put the other hand in your pocket (i cannot stress this enough, they will get you for this).do not lean on the lectern (podium, pulpit).whew!
strict dress-code guidelines straight from the presiding overseer.

This is the part that I hated the most when I used to be in the borg was wearing a suit to the meetings, I felt that if I went anywhere public after the meetings or even just simply driving around or to the meetings that I was on the spot, even just stepping out my apartment door and people seeing me dressed in a suit I felt so much on the spot and hated it.
On occasion I go to several churches in the area when I feel the need to go to church and most churches I go to people are wearing blue jeans which is what I wear is just a nice pair of blue jeans and a nice shirt when going.

What's the most extreme thing you ever did to apply Matt 6:33?
by Julia Orwell inas it's conflated with witnessing, meetings and so forth...what's the most extreme sacrifice you made for those things?
for me it was my mental health and maybe a career in something cooler than being an office fungus.. you?.

When I graduated from high school I took an asvab test and scored very high on the electronics, the navy wanted me, I would have been alot further ahead, at 35 years old I am stuck working a janitorial type job, also have a disablity that I found out I have a few years ago that causes short term memory loss which affects me at the job sometimes and if I loose my job I don't really have anything to fall back on right now

Gradually over time after leaving the borg 2 years ago my beliefs have been graudually changing, I would consider myself a free minded christian, I do believe in Jesus and simply believe thats all that is needed, and I hope this makes sense overall I am burned out on opening the bible and trying to figure it out so right now the bible is just an unopened book on my shelf, also sometimes I'll go to church, mostly during the holidays I have found a very aweomse time of year to visit since I love celebrating the holidays, one of the reasons I celebrate the holidays is because I want to show I am part of the human family instead of feeling I am separte and the holidays have taught me so much, this year all the holidays have had more meaning.

Are we all bitter?
by LouBelle ini posted a link on fb that lead to a topic here.
i then had one of my 'friends' start having a go about how bitter everyone is here....fact he said.
(he used to be a jw elder but left a while back, not sure why he left or if he has even researched the faith since leaving) the more i tried to reason with him that actually it is a support forum, the more he lashed out that everyone here bad mouths the jw's and only attack the jw's.

Yes I have to admit at times I can get to be bitter, but also something that this board has taught me is how I can better handle the situation I am in, when I left a few years ago from the borg at first I was very upset and having arguments with my parents, but over time I have learned that I was handling the situation with my parents the wrong way.
Fastfoward to today, I haven't talked to my parents for a long time, if I do see them in public I would keep religion out of the conversation, I would ask them how they been and if they ever did mention anything about the JW religion I just tell them that I found out I believe differently and leave it at that.
Overall we are all here for each other, I have to admit that when I was out of the borg mentally I was totally lost but now because of forums like this, youtube, etc................. I have come a long way in the healing process.
