76.6% of the private consumption and poorest 1.5%..It's not getting better.
Obviously I won't pretend to have a solution because as yet I doubt anyone has a practical one. I will say that I do not think we can help most of these countries with food and material aid because warlords, organized crime and poor administration would deny those resources reaching their intended demographic, I've seen it first hand just as most of us have seen it or read about it in the news or elsewhere. The people in those countries need to first do whatever they can to stabilize their own countries to the point where investors can feel safe investing in them. Job security then influences the standard of living and so forth. But helping them with charity in my opinion is not the answer.
