How about Marissa, Charlotte, Star, Suzanne, Legend?
Can't think of any boys names that aren't over popular right now. Maybe Charles?
i am due in the middle of october and my husband and i cannot come up with a name.
i almost had him sold on venus, until he asked people at work what they thought and he got wierd looks.
i wanted to name the last baby sidney, but let him name her because he has never gotten a chance to name a kid before.

I am back to college and it is soooo much more easier than last semester. No queasy stomach, no high anxiety, no trying to hide in the back of the class. Good thing too, because enrollement is really up! Classes are packed. I am really glad I started last spring. Lots of nontraditional students (older folks, for you who don't know what that means. Lots of post secondary kids too (high shcool student hoping for 2 years of free college).
My daughters are both in the same classes with each other this fall too. Totally unplanned. Different advisors, different interviews. I don't know if that is good or bad! LOL! It may be wonderfull for them or one of them may end up dead, or seriously wounded...they are like night and day, but both education majors. They are getting the "twin" thing because of it, although my olderst is older by three years, and I personally don't think they look that much alike, but they had heard that a lot over the years. Started when my oldest was about 14 or so.
My oldest is now employed at her dream job, can wear piercings, tattoos, purple hair and lots of jewelry, including pagan stuff, tongue ring and all. She has been unemployed, much to our dismay, for over 9 months so Dad and I are happy. But now the youngest isn't working....
But life goes on and I must go too and do some reading. There is lots of it it seems and I want to try and stay ahead. My classes don't look to difficult for me (that's what I say NOW..). Even the dreaded Effective Communications Class doesn't look as bad as I thought. Bad enough though, for a person who took F's in HS before getting up in front of the class. I'm not that inhibited now though. I can think now, I am allowed, and I have self-esteem now, much more than in the Borg. Being a foster parent for three years, and having to put in 24 some hours a year in classes and participation helped too.
For those of you who might be reading this, and are still in the Organization, note that life starts when you leave the Organization. And it is wonderfull!!! It is a real kick!! It has gotten better each and every year I have been away. And I was in a looong, looooong time.
As Always,(((love ya all))),

it's been about a month since i posted... sorry to stay away so long.. many of you are aware that my parents stopped speaking to me last year, and the only time i've seen them in a year is when my dad had a heart attack.
i got an e-mail from my mom that asked how i "felt about their religion" since i'm celebrating holidays.. i sat down with mom on saturday and told her that regardless of our differences in beliefs, that we're still family, and that will never change.
i told her that i understand that she's conflicted because of her beliefs, and that it's been difficult for her.
Hi honey! Glad to see ya back and that all went sorta well with your parents. You are right, they can not understand. I look back on myself as a JW and I was the same as them and more. I could be (and still can be) an arrogant ass... They did compromise with you some though, and that is a good sign. That at least leaves the road open for what ever the future holds between you guys.
As Always,
Lindy
i once gave a public talk and part of the information was dicussing did god have a begining.. i didn't find much concrete evidence in the bible for god not having a begining except scriptures that said he was from time indefinate.. which doesn't answer the question.. also when it says he made the heavens and the earth could this just mean the sky and earth ?.
i don't know hebrew so could someone help me there?.
anyway what about this scripture isaiah 43:10 .
Keep researching...You will find some real interesting things along this line out there. I have been researching religion and I have found out a lot of interesting things on who might be the creature of life on this planet. There are more theories out there than the "almighty" creator. Some real garbage too. But have an open mind, not all is impossible either.

i have just finished making phone calls informing the family of the death of my stepfather.
i was an adult when he married my mother, but i loved him very much.
he was a wonderful man.. although he was a faithful jw, for his entire life (he was born to it) he was a really good man, and a true christian, i believe.
Mulan,
So sorry for your loss and sorry too for the surrounding JW circumstances. He will live in on in your hearts and memories. I am glad they are such good ones. My Mom died about 7 years ago of cancer, that was hard enough. I was in at the time, and how she was treated at that time through her illness had a lot to do with me walking away shortly after her death. I am sorry that the JWs give you more to handle with such a greivous time than you should have to bear.

i thought this article from the september 2001 kingdom ministry was very interesting.. get out there and sell those books!!!.
is it an obstacle to preaching?.
most people lead busy lives.
Yes larc,
I was thinking how this message was the same old stuff I had heard countess times over the good many years I wasted in the Borg. Yada, yada, yada. As soon as the economy takes a down turn and to many JW's try to work extra hours to help out the family in any way, for any reason, service suffers and this same ole' theme reappears somewhere.Or if the "brothers" start to spend to much in general on entertainment or other things, the same old word goes out...get back to business. The reality of the message is that your magazine "contributions" and the Hall "contributions" are down, so get back on the horse "brothers" and giddy-up!

personnally, i heard a lot of urban legends about the presence of a devil in a house.
it was always the same kind of story about a devil who lived in a house and then the jw arrive and they pray jehovah and suddendly, the demon go away...
I don't know how much of a legend this is, but it happened in our congregation with witnesses to the event. I was not among them but knew them all and none of the ones involved tended toward the dramatic.
A young newly converted couple were taking some pictures outdoors with this old used camera and when the pictures were developed they came back with them in old fashioned turn of the century clothing. They had been wearing jeans and modern clothing when the pictures were taken. They tossed the camera, of course.
I have a few others but that was the most bizzare that I came across beyond the usual demonized tables, chairs, ashtray, paintings, houses, and the like.
i remember when i was a child we had dogs.
anyway, this "annointed" person spread this rumor that we were sleeping with the dogs and worshipping their pictures.
i have also read in the awake that the wtbs frowns on pet ownership.
Not that I am arguing with you because I am not, but in all the years that I was a JW I don't recall anything negative about pet owning nor do I recall any article written about owning pets in a negative way, either Awake! or Watchtower. We as children had lots of them and as an adult JW we I have had pets form A to Z and never heard a negative thing about them. Lots of JW I know have tons of pets.I even showed cats on weekends a couple times a year, and never got any flack...but then no one thought much about me one way or another since I got to the point that their counsel was ignored by me in my last years amoung them. Where is this article?
As far as that "annointed one," I would assume that they were just a busy body who wanted to have control over others, and "thought more of themselves than necessary". These kinds of people are everywhere, not just in the "Organization". They should be ignored irregardless of their "titles" which also included "elders", "COs", and "DOs", and "pioneers", "elder's wife", etc.

Sorry for your bad experience...BTW, welcome to the board.
