If I ever see a kid named Schmoopie I'm gonna smack his/her parents!
I'm with you on that Morbidzbaby! To name a child that should be classified as a form of child abuse!
seems to be the trend today to call another, a friend or loved one, "boo".
it was cute about five years ago when it was seldom used.. it's old, it's overdone, it's done by everyone, it should stop now.
find a new pet name you damned boo-hooers .

Remember that Sienfield episode when Jerry had a girlfriend that called him Schoompie?.... I am just saying it could be worst. Also that was a funny episode!
i really don't care much for jw's at my door, or at anyone's door.
this chauvinistic, fanatical bully-a-hole, however, is one of the worst examples of a christian i have ever seen.
the jw's handled themselves very well in the face of this ridiculous bullying and taunting by this so-called christian attempting to school the jw's about god and the bible.
I agree, what an A-Hole!!! Very poor example of a Christian.
imagine this scenario:.
step 1) the governing body produces a brochure entitled: "addressing misconceptions about jehovah's witnesses".
it brings all the apostate arguments out of the woodwork and addresses them (whether or not the answers make sense doesn't really matter).
I feel that the GB is caught in between a rock and a hard place when the Internet is concerned. For one thing their literature service can't keep up with the information that is coming out on the web against them and they can't logically defend themselves with these present day circumstances. They face the fact that they are hemorrhaging members due to them using old school tactics not working any longer and new techno logic informing current members and the general public. If they don't get with the times their organization will eventually collapse, personally I would be happy if it did.
jw talk radio will launch this month on wed 5/11/11, 12pm pst.. .
here is a sneak peak of jw talk radio's first discussion topic.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ft83y58xyy0.
I will definitely be tuning to that. I never understood the whole thing about homosexuality being a choice, and was not something someone was born as. I was taught that there was nothing wrong with being homosexual growing up until I started studying with the JW's.
judgment day.
the end of the world is almost here!.
holy god will bring judgment day on.
I would like to know what you bring to a "rapture party"......I mean besides yourself?
hello to jwn!
this is standfirm.
i mainly post on the topix jehovah's witness forum, but i decided to give it a try over here also.
This is going to be interesting.
hi wanted to introduce myself, i wanted to intoduce myself once all the dust cleared more and i am thinking more clearly, in feb. 2011 is when i decided to leave jw, my way out of the organization has actually been since july of 2010 gradually over time i started to question the jw religion, in july of 2010 i was still living at home with my parents, my dad at the time told me he was going to force me to go to meetings but i started to drift out the other way it got to the point where my dad told me i had to eventually leave, in november of 2010 alot of things happened, i was finally able to find my own place, just at the right time i found a very good deal on a duplex for $350 a month something that i can easily afford even on low income, usually alot of places even where i live are around $600 a month, in alot of ways i just about nearly was homeless.. in feb. of 2011 is when i decided to read the book crisis of conscience, the very first night getting through 80 pages is when my blindfolds came off, i immediatley accepted christ as my savior, also in the process i did alot of extensive research, i did research on alot of mainstream religons, also jwfacts.com helped me out alot on where to go, i decided to check out the baptist church, everything was beyond what i expected, i am not afraid to walk into a different church to me its helping me heal all the pain that the jw religon has caused, also recently i got baptized and now am a born again christian.. .

Hello Andy! I am from Montana also, welcome to the board!
im noticing that alot of witnesses commit suicide.
one sister i knew a few yrs back, in her early 40's, was having marriage problems in the hall for yrs and everyone knew it.
they only told her to rely on jehovah and asked the elders for guidance.
I have often wondered this same thing myself. I had been very suicidal off and on throughout my time in the org and had went to others in the congregation for help but I was told to pray to Jehovah, go to more meetings and read more Watchtowers. I had it all planned out, I was going to hang myself in my art studio. The only thing that kept me from doing it was imagining my children coming home from school and discovering my body. If it weren't for my children I wouldn't be here. Within the last 5 years I have known of 6 people who have taken their lives, 4 were baptised and 2 were young men raised in the org. There needs to be more of a concerted effort to help the ones crying out for help from the ones who are in charge of shepherding the flock, such as pointing them in the right direction when they need professional help.
officaly they say that they don't want the r&f to have low self esteem, they say that low self esteem is from the devil.. .
but they create a culture that cannot help but give their r&f crippling self esteem, the constant empasis is on looking at the flaws in oneself.
"pummeling" yourself because of your sins, all the publications tell us over and over again that we are "dust" and deserve nothing.. .
I believe that the GB uses this and that it is typical cult tactic. People are more controllable, and malleable when their self esteem is low.
