i am in a situation where my ex-wife left me.

i had survellaince done on her place by two members of my family.

this was done over a several month time frame.

Well, that is it, then my friend. Case closed. They are telling you to drop it. You will have to stay single for the rest of your life or until you get some better spys.

Or until you decide that this is WRONG and refuse to go along with it anymore.

When my JW parents split up, my father moved to HAWAII, I believe just so my mother would never get proof and could never be free!! And it worked, as my mother had neither the money nor the inclination to hire an expensive private detective in another state! It worked, that is, until a few years later when my mom decided she couldn?t and shouldn?t have to take it anymore and got remarried to a wonderful man. And got DF.

All I can say is, thank God she is free!! This got her out of the JWs long enough for her to see that this could not be ?God?s One True Org.?

This ALSO happened to my brother. He, like many JW youth, got married at around 18 years old. It was a terrible mistake, as he and Elder?s daughter were much too young and after only a few years, she left him.

It soon became clear she was leading a double life and people saw her out at clubs and stuff. But she never got DF. That was her main concern. She just drug my brother?s name through the mud, and then moved to a location no one ever did find, and stopped going to the meetings. But she still got to keep her family, and her wild life on the side while my brother cannot be free. My brother was a good JW for quite sometime after this, but the elders and cong treated him very poorly because they figured he 'must have done something!' Still he continued on. A nd my brother will never spy on her or hire a PI. He just would never do that. After a time, he had enough. This painful time in my brother?s life changed his view of ?God?s One True Org,? also.

Oh well, he is better off without her, and now I have my baby brother back! Thanks again, Watchtower Corporation!

Yes the elders' rule is that they must stay there until 2 am for it to be overnight. 2 reliable JWs must be eyewitnesses. It could be your ex-wife knows the elders' rule too.

Yes, yes, so true. Of course this isn't the elder's rule, this is God's rule! It comes straight from the Bible! Anyone who reads their Bible can find it...at Mark ...no wait...is it John? Or...um...wait, I know I can find it...just give me a second...

"the U.N." - it's effects on the witnesses

in short......i am surprised of the organisations involvement with the u.n......had the damaging effect to the degree that it did......upon those who learned of it.. when the 'generation change' occured in 94', i thought there would be a bigger fallout.

when the voting issue happened, i thought it would cause quite a stir.

with "dateline" and "fifth estate" uncovering child molestation issue among jehovah's witnesses....i thought many would fall out.. what gets me is the amount , that were effected by the u.n. scandle.

I was out when the UN issue hit, but it outraged me just the same. It really, really outraged me. Those HYPOCITES and LIARS! I showed the info to my at-the-time-active brother and he was shaken to the core.

However, the information was so unthinkable and shocking that most JWs refused to even look at it or consider it.

As for the generation thing?

I had left the JWs with the idea that when the ?generation of 1914 passed away? and the end didn?t come, my family would see it was all just a sham and they would leave the JWs and everything would be ok. Boy was I upset a few years latter when I found THAT teaching had been dropped and my family had not even blinked!

i have been goin out with this girl for a few months now and weve spent sooo much time together.

things seem to be goin really well and i feel like we will end up gettin married.

but she seems to put her studies and family before me.

If it is "True Love" you would support and accept her just as she is.

If you can't, then it isn't real love.

I find it hard to understand why you would not want the person you love to be s uccessful. Don't you want the best for her? What are your plans for YOUR life?

Yep. I agree 100%. I hope I can afford GPS by the time my kid drives. Keep 'em a little safer a little longer. I have two boys to get through those dangerous teen driving years. I would like them to live to see their insurance rates go down.

I work in a high school and I see parents all the time who "trust" their kids..

Some of them are right: they can trust their kids.

But many of them are wrong.

There is only one way to find out, right? Check on them!!

Just received Crisis of Conscience!!

i've already exited the jws in mind and heart, and have read many comments from everyone about the book, so didn't really see the need to buy it for myself.

however, after reading something here on the forum, i decided to order it (and the tao of pooh and siddhartha.

) a super-dub sits two desks away from (she and her husband knew ray and his wife, had tea with them in their room when he was on the gb, etc.

i am new...will try to keep this short and to the point.

up until then, there was a bookstudy held in my home.

i live with my jw aunt and cousin (more like "orthodox" jw if there was an official distinction) as well as my non-jw mother and brother with whom i am very close.

I think your mother should be able to see that your aunt and your cousin are treating you like crap. Can she see that? If she can, she should stand up for you!

And since the house is half your mom?s and half your aunt?s, I think you should move out and get your own place where you don?t have to be shunned in your own house.

Of course, the most evil (And fun!) thing to do would be stay home from work for the next 4 Wednesdays and Fridays and watch Harry Potter or Smurfs or Casper while playing with an Ouija Board!! Just joking!

Withholding Emotion....

today on dr. phil, he says to a woman who has not spoken to her brother and sisters for 12 years:"withholding emotion is one of the most mean and vicious and aggressive things you can do.".

i think he'd have a field day with jws who shun friends and family members who choose to leave the organization!.

Her belief is stronger than her love is it not? How could it be? Is it selfishness? Is it selfish because the shunner is afraid of losing their own life if they disobey god and refuse to shun? I guess it is!

Gumby, this is so true!

And I was was thinking, not only is shunning selfish, but the whole JW religion is all about saving your own @ss. Nothing is done out of real love.
