Great post... exposes the org for what it is... a religion which focuses so much on such petty little things instead of focusing on the more important things. Straining out the gnat and gulping down the camel indeed!
Beards was always my pet hate as a JW. If i could have one... ID HAVE ONE! Now I have been out for a year, and I still have the pack of razors I bought before my final ever meeting last April!!!

Oh my goodnes! I will agree it is a VERY impressive organisation in terms of how it cares for the physical needs of its employees, sorry its volunteers, and how it produces all those books and shizz... but this does not mean that they are God approved. I find it amazing how JWs sensationalise things like this. Jesus said that the main identifying love of his followers was thier love amongst each other. (John 13:34-34) Why get so emotional about a production facility? :s

Well.... credit where it is due...
The Watchtower has developed an EXTREMELY impressive and efficient publishing company. Not only that but the community which is upheld at bethel is extremely well cared for.
Watching this video saddens me. I remember the good old days when i watched this as a child and all i saw was goodness. Now when I watch it, all I can see are men and women wholeheartedly doing their very best for an organisation which has departed from the truth of the bible. Its very impressive what they do and the way they are organised, but I just cant help but see how they have fallen away from true Christianity and have adopted so many unchristian and unloving teachings. Very sad. I would hate to be in it!!! I cant believe I wanted to be a bethelite at one point.

Coool... one of my customers is an objectivist. We spoke about it the other week. Interesting and actualy i cant argue with you. Its very difficult to prove something that you cannot see. At the same time though just because we cannot see it, it doesnt mean it doesnt exist. An interesting problem. :)
How do the doubts expressed by the ex JWs here make you feel? For example, about the FDS not being sent by God.
