by TimothyT inhey guys.. for those of you in europe, australia and even usa if you know it, who likes the eurovision song contest?

40 or so singers from all different countries all come together for a massive show where they all sing their song for 3 mins and then move on for the next singer.

Hehe Amelia. Me and Jack are the same. We get our notepads out and start rating them. Its great fun. I really do not like the political voting but im glad they have introduced the professional jury vote since 2009. They keep it real which is good. Having said that Greece and Cyprus always vote for each other, Portugal and Spain always do, all the balkans and former yougoslavian countries usualy vote for each other. Gets on my wick, but i have found it makes less of a difference overall anyway. :o)

Hehe thanks Cedars for your input. Yes I know all the participants this year and my money (figurativly of course) is on Norway or Sweden who both take it ever so seriously.
I like Graham Norton and you are right, its funny how they really rip into the foreign acts, even though sometimes i disagree. Truth is, the competition has become REALLLLY good since 2009. Before then it was a bit of a joke. I must be honest though. I really dont know what the European people want. Every year they vote for crap. The best song usually ends up winning but its a really odd and illogical process - Thats what makes it so exciting though! :)

Its great!!! 40 or so singers from all different countries all come together for a massive show where they all sing their song for 3 mins and then move on for the next singer. The stage shows are often immense, the songs are usually extremely catchy, the performances are totally camp, and its just BRILLIANT! At the end all the countries then vote for whose song they felt was the best. This year its being held in Azerbaijan and is looking to be the best show out of all previous 54.
Here is my favourite song of all time. Its just brilliant.

Hi everyone. How goes it?
Today I (disfellowshipped gay boy) went to a JW funeral with my dad (ex-elder and not yet disfellowshipped supposed apostate), my brother (who wants nothing more to do with the org) and my mum (who was never interested anyway). Well we had a great time. This was the first time I have seen all of them in over a year in some sort of congre'gay'tional setting, although we only went to the crem. Sod going to the Kingdumb hall.
Anyway, we rather embarassingly pulled up in our sheddy car and got out. I smiled at everyone and saw and made definite eye contact. I did not want to be controversial and i REALY liked the JW whose funeral it was. He was a lovely man, hence why i wanted to go. Well, my family was greeted but i wasnt. Lol. However the sister whose dad it was looked at us all and thanked us then looked at me and kind of gestured and facialy explained that she was glad to see me there and thanked me for coming. I managed to get that from a split second look. I also got a smile from 2 other brothers. After the service which was incredibly short, we didnt get a chance to speak to any of the family which was gutting. Nontheless we walked back to the car and i decided that i cant be bothered with all this avoidance shit and feeling bad about what i (supposedly) did. So i walked straight through the group of brothers, head held high smiling at them. One of them winked at me which made me feel great. He is a nice brother too.
We then went home. Weird day. Still, it puts it all into perspective in my mind: Today i was surrounded by people who were my closest friends this time last year. Now they wont even speak to me. The people in this organisation are so mind blowingly brainwashed. Its just insane what they will do to others who have a different opinion or choose a different course to theirs. Goodness me! Not only that but in so doing they disregard the very meaning of Christianity, to show love to others. Unbelievable and VERY sad!

Well thats it ladies and gents. I levelled with the sister who continues to chat with me, telling her i will never return to the organisation and my reasons why. I hope I didnt hurt her but i have done what i could never do and tell her things the way they absolutely are. Here are some quotes from my email to her:
"I don’t ask you to put your loyalty to god before me. I don’t even know why you feel you would need to. It does highlight to me though the authority that you are under, and it saddens me to think that such authority really does destroy friendships and families."
"I managed to explore and uncover some interesting points, some doctrinal, some principle, but most of them talking about our lord Jesus who as Paul says to Timothy is the ONLY mediator between man and God. Clear, concise, contextual, and indisputable. Apart from now I would never say any such things to you because I DON’T want to shake your belief that several in Brooklyn mediate between us and Jesus. If that is what you want to believe then that is your right and I don’t judge you for it."
"I also find it interesting that the very man who started this religion opposed the idea of organisation: "Beware of "organization." It is wholly unnecessary. The Bible rules will be the only rules you will need. Do not seek to bind others' consciences, and do not permit others to bind yours." Zion's Watch Tower , Sept. 15, 1895, page 216. Somehow I doubt you will find that in the WT Library. Interestingly I TOTALLY agree with the founder of the religion. I think he is SPOT ON! I just wonder why it all gradually changed and became so rigid, binding other people’s consciences with principles and laws which do not come from Jesus.""I have no more time for cherry picking scriptures and twisting them to fit certain religious policies. I think its very disrespectful to Jesus and Jehovah, John 6:68 and Matthew 24:45 being prime examples. I came to the conclusion a while back that the truth is found in the bible and there is no one religion in the world which embodies truth. I still hold to the fact though that your beliefs are your own, I do not agree with them, and I think you have been misled just as much as you feel I have been, but I simply feel it’s a difference of opinion."
I have no idea how my comments will be recieved, likely with tears and sadness. But I seriously think its about time she woke up, or atleast let me live my life without trying to extract the twig from my eye when there is a flippin log in her own. She basicaly has told me that she is cutting the ties and now I will only see her once a month when i clean her windows.
Anyway, im now going to continue getting on with my life, like I should have been. As such, I have nothing else to rant and rave about on this forum. I suspect I will be back to check it every now and then, but SERIOUSLY, I just want to move on now and put this matter behind me. The next stage in the pipeline is my dad and bro being disfellowshipped. I may be back to let you all know. Until then,
See you soon.

What a great question. I guess they sit down in their room, pray for guidance (which means nothing) and read the scriptures (HAHAHA!) and then come to some sort of decision based upon their own interpretation of the scriptures. If 2/3s agree then it MUST be divine providence and coming from Jehovah. Because they have prayed before hand it must make them feel that any decision made is from Jehovah.
Who knows. Ray Franz speaks about it in CoC. He said that when he was on the GB they hardly used the bible and frequently debated points without reaching a unanimous agreement. Surely if its from Jehovah then all will agree. Surely there is no room for argument or misinterpretation.
Its all Bo**ocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
