Some of us are here because we know longer believe the Society has the truth. However, like you just said, we would be disfellowshipped for making our feelings public, and some of us go to keep contact with family members. Maybe it's hard for you to understand that, because, my guess is that you're not an apostate, but some of us are really scared of losing our family ties because we no longer believe the religion.

Undercover apostates...
by Maze ini've observed some forum users here that claim to be active witnesses (even claims to be ministerial servants or elders) while duplicitously supporting apostates online.
my contention is this; why attend meetings and/or participate in the preaching activity when the second you divulge your apostate thinking into the congregation, you'll be disfellowshipped?
while this action taken may seem to be harsh, the outworking of events wouldn't be much different in one of christendom's churches.

So if God didn't mean a literal day when he said "Day," doesn't that mean the NWT isn't the most accurate translation?
by Pika_Chu inif the hebrew word rendered "day" has multiple meanings, why was the most accurate translation of the word not used?
why doesn't it say "eons" in the nwt?
if god really meant to say "eons," why didn't he make sure it said "eons" instead of days.

Think about it. If the Hebrew word rendered "Day" has multiple meanings, why was the most accurate translation of the word not used? Why doesn't it say "eons" in the NWT? If God really meant to say "eons," why didn't he make sure it said "eons" instead of days. Dear JHVH: You confuse us! Please use better word choice if you want your message delivered to the ends of the Earth with ACCURACY. Thank You, Lord through Jesus's name. The fact that God wouldn't correct this problem before we realized the Earth and everything on it couldn't have come about in 7 days, makes me wonder as to how much God must really care about people translating his word accurately. Oh, and this is the first page of the first book of the Bible. You know, they screw up on the first page already. Either God isn't using them as his channel as they clearly suck at translating God's thoughts ACCURATELY...or God must not particularly care about how confused he makes people who read the NWT like it's the most accurate translation. Thoughts?

Why a publishing company and not a news channel
by maksym init is interesting to say that the means of communication of god [jehovah ]happens to be varied throughout the ages.
in apostolic times god had eyewitness to proclaim the message.
these faithful men furthered the message by spreading the message by word of mouth coupled with oral tradition.

Perhaps the provider is uber-politically correct and interpreted this site as hateful for calling a religion a cult? But then, why does it mention "occult" things? That's just weird, and would be politically incorrect, considering poor Wiccans would be left out in the cold if they used this wi-fi.

I feel so alone here...
by Pams girl inthanks to all who helped me escape my imminemt baptism after 6 years of study.
it was a close call.. ive clearly been labelled spirituallly weak, as nobody has called here to say hi or anything and its been 2 monthes now....their divine justice for me i guess.
i did see my study teacher a while back when she dropped off my memorial invite, and that was after a chat, nothing to do with the wbts...seemed like it was an afterthought on her part.. they all know about my problems with agoraphobia and panic.

Hugs for you, Pamsgirl.
Of course, I don't know the details, but I'm going to risk it and say you probably have a chance at repairing those relationships (in addition to making new friends; I know you can do that). If those people really love you, they'll understand. And it's likely that they know a thing or two about JWs being a cult and are willing to help you. Maybe they'll see you are lonely and understand it's because of this awful cult. If they are really worth your time and energy, they'll make the effort to put themselves in your shoes and try to understand you.

Um...what browser were you using? Anywhere near a JW-ish place? Was it a hotel during Assembly time? Geez, that's creepy, anyway.

I know, right? If this message is so important that the lives of 6 Billion people are at stake every waking moment, then why doesn't ths benevolent WT God communicate with humanity just a little bit more effectively?

Hi from Andy from state of Montana, introduce myself
by andys inhi wanted to introduce myself, i wanted to intoduce myself once all the dust cleared more and i am thinking more clearly, in feb. 2011 is when i decided to leave jw, my way out of the organization has actually been since july of 2010 gradually over time i started to question the jw religion, in july of 2010 i was still living at home with my parents, my dad at the time told me he was going to force me to go to meetings but i started to drift out the other way it got to the point where my dad told me i had to eventually leave, in november of 2010 alot of things happened, i was finally able to find my own place, just at the right time i found a very good deal on a duplex for $350 a month something that i can easily afford even on low income, usually alot of places even where i live are around $600 a month, in alot of ways i just about nearly was homeless.. in feb. of 2011 is when i decided to read the book crisis of conscience, the very first night getting through 80 pages is when my blindfolds came off, i immediatley accepted christ as my savior, also in the process i did alot of extensive research, i did research on alot of mainstream religons, also jwfacts.com helped me out alot on where to go, i decided to check out the baptist church, everything was beyond what i expected, i am not afraid to walk into a different church to me its helping me heal all the pain that the jw religon has caused, also recently i got baptized and now am a born again christian.. .

this is a question that i have struggled with, not just as a jehovahs witness but as a believer in god.

If I were to simply stand by and watch my daughter get savagely beaten, when I could easily stop the attack, how am I not responsible?
In my worldview, God doesn't exist. Therefore, he's not responsible for anything.
Simply put, $hit happens. We're all going to die, and we're the lucky ones. Most people are never born.
Or, we can blame invisible people and look to magical answers for comfort.
Leaving WT I agree. Unicorns aren't responsible for happiness, trolls aren't responsible for bad things happening. God is responsible for neither.
