hey there all.. a friend of mine that i met through juniper's preschool (another mom) has included me in on an email recipe exchange.. i thought that i would extend the invitation to you all.

i have a few that i had invited but cannot do it.. so far i myself have gotten a few great recipes.. basically the way it works is this.. i send you the invite.

on the invite are two names at the top.

This is great timing - I almost started a thread of my own. I'm afraid it sounds a little confusing for my befruddled wee brain, but I'm happy to share the recipe for what I've just eaten right now, and its delicious! It takes maybe 20 mins from scratch, and two pans.

Tuna Pasta for One (Bachelor[ette] meal)

Boil some water in one pan; and heat some olive oil with half a teaspoon of crushed hot red peppers and ground black pepper in another (I use a wok instead of a second pan).
Start preparing the vegetables, in this case dice half a sweet long red pepper, and slice a couple of mushrooms and a couple of spring onions.
When the oil is hot: throw the pasta into the water (tonight I fancied spaghetti) and; throw a small can (185g) of well drained tuna into the wok (I prefer it canned in Sunflower oil, as it takes away most of the fishy smell, and I really squeeze it out).
Carry on preparing the vegetables, while occasionally stirring the tuna, then throw them in too (you may need some more olive oil at this point).
Grab a plate and garnish it with spinach and watercress. If there's time while waiting for the pasta then maybe use it to grate some cheese, if it isn't pre-grated and you like it.
Keep attending to the tuna and vegetables, so they don't burn, then when the pasta is al dente drain it in a sieve and throw that into the wok as well and stir well.
Empty the pasta pan and pour in 1/4 pint of milk, a knob of butter, a tablespoon of tomatoe concentrate (some prefer fresh chopped tomatoes, but I didn't have any in) and herbs to taste (I prefer oregeno, Marjoram and just a little basil because it can be overpowering, and, when it has all melted down and mixed, a little cornflour to thicken (got to keep stirring that, though).
When it is all warmed through throw that into the wok and mix well again.
Pour some grated cheese over it and fold that in just enough to melt, before sliding it onto the plate with the greenery.

As with most dishes, you experiment with the exact quantities depending on your taste. This is a recipe I made up myself, and it certainly hits my spot

But on that note, I find the threads where the originator disappears for days a little disconcerting. If someone feels strongly enough to start a thread, WTF are they doing leaving it without the courtesy of a reply for days??

Just a personal gripe.

*** note: i grew up jw, never baptized or df'd though.i haven't set foot in a kh in 2 years, ever since i gave some so-called friends my new telephone # and address, and asked them to stop by and chat about our beliefs with my new wife.

i had taken her to the memorial and 2 meetings, and of course she got love-bombed, but no one ever called, or came around to speak to her, or me!

Holidays

i am a former jw, but i still believe what they do about the holidays?

i have already talked about origins and all that stuff so i wanted to ask something without bringing up scriptual or historical backgrounds for a change.. my question is (whatever your beliefs may be) what % of people who celebrate christmas, if you took the presents out of christmas would still acknowledge christmas as much as they do now?

Surely the point is that if you do something to "praise" then simply put you are praising. If another person does it to enjoy excess, then that is their perogative. Or have you forgotten so quickly the words of Paul at Rom.14:5, 6:

One [man] judges one day as above another; another [man] judges one day as all others; let each [man] be fully convinced in his own mind.

He who observes the day observes it to Jehovah. Also, he who eats, eats to Jehovah, for he gives thanks to God; and he who does not eat does not eat to Jehovah, and yet gives thanks to God. (NWT)

I guess its ok to quote that scripture when you want to use it get around celebrating a weekly Sabbath. How come it isn't just as appropriate to use it the other way around with various festivals? Read the context to see that Paul had a wider undertanding of it, also.

has anyone else ever noticed that there is no watchtower in scripture as part of any particular teaching but there is prominent use of watchtower in dungeons and dragons type games and forms of witchcraft including spells involving watchtower?

Again I state that you are concentrating on Masonic Knights Templarism. The Freemasons have incorporated this into the higher degrees of the York Rite (but not the Scottish Rite, which is a different path). They are not, however, the originators of it. Templarism is alive and well, with and without adjunct organisations. An example of this would be OSMTH.

You are evidently aware of this fact, so why are you obfuscating the issue?
