See that group of islands at the top called "Hebrides"?
I'm up in that general direction - just not saying where.
And I'd rather be called British, ta very muchly!
Not that I've got anything against the English, mind you.
Bl**dy sasenachs!!!
LOL
just a small request to you all.. britian is not england.. england is a part of britian, as is wales, scotland .a lot of what you may think is english is in fact welsh or scotish.. it is like me refering to the usa as new york .. if this carries on i'll have no other choice but to call the usa canada.

lots of people have been asking me why the united kingdom has a monarchy.
what, they ask, is the point?.
it's a complex issue that i haven't really thought much about until recently.
I forgot to add - I had a Webasco sunroof, too.

Darn you are so cool - Eman.
I had a '74 GT Coupe - rubber bumper model.
I loved that car and just gave it up last year.
Converted to single battery, electronic ignition, and alloy wheels. Other than that, original in every way.
An ex-friend (JW) has a '67 GT Coupe with chrome bumpers and spoked wheels.

I think we should do the reverse of Cromwell and get rid of parliment.
Think how much we could save by removing the buerocrats.
LOL
hello all... i came across this line of questioning many months on the inet so i decided that i would submit just this once to peer pressure and make a usefull contribution to the board.. here is the question... is jesus just "a god?".
many of the regular inet surfers would have come across this line of questioning before so if you have you could just sit back and relax and read the replys.. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>.
me: so is he a 'lesser true god' or a 'lesser false god?'.
Sunspot:
It makes more sense if you use the word "Father" instead of "God" in your comments 1 to 4.
Tying up the whole concept of God then becomes another issue.
It seems that you are looking at it from a JW perspective of God and/or the Trinity, rather than what many theologians actually describe.
Ever tried the following explanation?
Man is the top form of fleshly substance.
God is the top form of spirit substance.
There are many persons in the form of man.
There are three persons in the form of God.
Confused? You will be!
After all, it's hard to describe in physical terms that which is not physical, but rather is infinite.
Also - the more you know, the more you realise how little you know.

YK:
Where does the bible say that Satan coveted immortality?
Further, you make the following statements:
Jehovah demands that all creation acknowledge Christ as the authority in recognition of Jesus' sacrifice.
Jesus is worshipped because God commands it.
Acknowledging someone is hardly worship.
Can you be a bit more specific about how you worship Jesus?
i was thinking today that many of us ex-dubs are fairly capable of holding our own when conversing with an active witness about anything jw related.
if we dont have an immediate answer, it isnt difficult to find a ex-jw website that has a lot of good information we could use for finding an answer fairly quickly.
having said this though, i think there are some questions that a jw could ask you that might be a lot tougher to answer, websites or not.
One of the hardest issues, IMHO, is getting past the buzzwords and preconceptions.
For example:
I attend church.
My wife asks me how I can go to a church that teaches x, y, z.
I answer that the religion is irrelevant, but rather I have a personal relationship with God.
She comes back with, well why didn't you stay a JW then?
I answer, because they state they have all the answers and insist that you believe them - the church knows it doesn't have all the answers, and accepts that you can believe pretty much what you want.
I think the whole concept was lost on her.
When you are dealing with things at the concept level, with someone who has been psychologically lobotomised, you have a difficult job on your hands.
after reading a number of posts it sounds like most of you have been shunned even by your immediate family members (parents, brothers, sisters)after you were df'd.. i am shunned by my sister-in-law - but she's it out of the entire family.
my uncle, brothers, mother, and father (an elder before he passed away) all continued to associate with me - we even go out to dinners together.. so here's my question - is my family the minority?
i thought that only non-family members had to shun you but family was ok as long as they don't discuss spiritual issues.
Shunned by all my previous friends.
Shunned by my in-laws.
Barely spoken to by my immediate family, but completely shunned by my kid brother.
Wife won't even let me pray over a meal.
Fortunately I don't have kids, as that could be really awkward.
i would like to know what the grace of god mean to jhw, and why they try to work for something that is a gift and is free from god?.
maybe some one can help with this information.
evangelist:
You aren't doing yourself any favours, on this board, with the nickname you've chosen.
Justin:
Agreed.
Grace was the first doctrine I studied without JW blinkers, after my eyes were opened.
did you ever read any of the following completley cover to cover ?.
watchtower.
awake.
All of the above.
Gawd, that makes me feel so sad!!!
What a loser!!!
