Does that explain Matt.28:19, then?
Is the name of the Holy Spirit "WTBTS", according to the GB?

So I guess it's finally my turn <grin>
by noidea inwell i had a visit today from an elder (related through marriage) about my non-meeting attendance.
he let me know that the circuit overseer is due in for a visit in 2 weeks and the elders in my congregation felt that it would be good for them to pay me a visit.
i have already declined other such offers.. he asked me why i was not attending the meetings (didn't reply to that) and that if i had a problem that i could talk about it.

When JW's Can't Pigeon Hole A Situation....
by Englishman in......it puts them into a state of disequilibrium.. take, for example, the case of someone who has been disfellowshipped from the organisation.
heads will nod knowingly and wisely if that person should:.
do drugs.. become alcoholic.. become promiscuous.. such is the price paid for someone who "turns his back on jehovah".

God is Jesus
by evangelist ini am looking for more scriptures that can prove to a jehovah witness that god is jesus, and jesus is god.i found only one verse so far in 1jo:5:20: and we know that the son of god is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his son jesus christ.
this is the true god, and eternal life.. if you know more scriptures that say directly that god is jesus please tell me the verses the jhw will see plainly that jesus is no way an angel, and he is jehovah god almighty.. my friend said if i can prove by the bible only that jesus is god he will leave the jhw society, and he will know that they are teaching lies and they would be to him a dogma religious sect.
my friend gave me a booklet called should you believe in the trinity?, and is jesus christ the almighty god.

LOL@Imbue Re: Algebra.
Re: Equality. That is equality of substance, not necessarily position, since God is head of all (1Cor.11:3; 15:22-28). -

"God is Jesus" would seem to indicate that Jesus is the totality of God, which leaves out the Father and the Holy Spirit.

Pictures in the mags
by sleepy inhave you noticed the pictures in the mags and books, when showing a picture of a witness house in a western land where they are prehaps having the book study or some thing similiar?.
how come the house is always well decorated with nice matching furniture?.
according to the society we should all be giving up our jobs and pionering.. a more true to life photo if we were pioneering like the mags say we should , be a few boxes to sit on along with some unmatching second hand chairs and table along with the partly decorated walls in a bed-sit.. so why don't they show the houses of pioneers when they use pictures?.

Most of the houses are sets.
Occasionally they make a blunder with the wallpaper bookcase. -

WANTING to Believe in God
by dobby inhas anyone had this experience?.
after letting go of my beliefs as a jw, i felt the only alternative was to be atheist.
or maybe it is just logical to there is no god when i am only listening to my mind and not my heart.

"I guess I think blasting someone's beliefs with a preconcieved notion that everyone should agree with you is just plain ignorant.
"
LOL - you mean like you're trying to do, regarding the bible?
Don't take it personally, but everyone has baggage and preconceptions.
If you are honest you will find that you are just as subject to them.Personally I try to take the view that everyone is entitled to their opinion and viewpoint and NOBODY has absolute truth in their grasp.
Some of the few things I wax lyrical about include my personal relationship with Christ. If someone doesn't believe that is real, that's not my problem.Wishing you all the best on the road of life, that we all travel.
Hope that dobby finds what he's looking for, too. -

GSX:
"spirituality and religion are not the same thing. There are some very good ideals within the christian faith; they just sometimes get overshadowed by dogma"
So very true!
Good point.
Give me a right hearted wiccan/pagan any day of the week, over a legalistic "Christian".
