WT letter advises JWs not to edit Wikipedia articles on JW subjects

apparently, the watchtower society has recently issued formal advice that individual witnesses should not edit jw articles on wikipedia.

i occasionally edit some of the jw articles on wikipedia.

a couple of days ago i noticed a comment from one of the most respected jw editors to another jw editor on his personal talk page mentioning a letter from the wt society about editing on wikipedia.

Life after DF/divorce

i am just wondering how many here have gone through the experience of being disfellowshipped and divorced?

i am currently in that situation and sometimes i am afraid of what to expect.

thankfully i have a good core of friends, but nonetheless i still find myself somewhat nervous of what to expect in my new life.

Me too Mr. Free! I was married 20 years to a devout JW wife we pioneered, I was elder, etc etc then after waking up she kicked me out we are divorcing (almost final!!) and she ratted me to elders along with a couple friends. So I decided to let my light shine and tell the elders everything I learned and put it online for all to see so they DFed me and I am proud of it.

It's hard at first, but you will be FINE in time. You will be better than fine actually. If you want to chat email me and we can set up something!

i recently came to the realization that the organization is corrupt and is false.

my story is similar to many i think.

i was raised in the religion, pioneered and served as an elder for a number of years.

Yep. That's what we call collateral damage, and the WT has never shied away nor worried about taking out a few with "friendly fire"... It's part of the way they wage war and maintain control.

Two JW's just came by

so as i'm here browsing jwn while in bed, i hear the door knock at my apartment door!.

i was thinking it was my co-worker who lives opposite of me because i have no family nor friends where i'm currently living (job relocation for 3 months).

one a couple of occasions, persons have knocked, but they realize they're at the wrong door.. so i was in my speedos and opened the door and i see two sisters at the door!!!.

A NEW NAME

i wish to communicate that there has been a change in the name that identifies the community that i'm rousing.

it used to be called "christian fraternity of jehovah's people".

from now on it will be called "christian fraternity of god's people".

Good move Eden- it's not shocking at all to many of us.

You are a sharp, thinking Christian and we need lots more of you-- where do I go to find them??

WTS is ADVERTISING in local newspapers

i just opened our local paper to discover a half page add on the front page for jehovahs witnesses... more to be read on page 4 and 5 where there are two half page articles.

that must have cost them.. they are obviously trying to soothe the public into thinking that jws are harmless...let them into your homes.

That's not necessarily the case- I have done a lot of TV, Radio, and print advertising for clients and follow the advertising news, More and more newscorps are doing "soft news" and will feature stories for a price. It's actually not that new, even Russell did it back in the day. He paid for "news stories" in certain papers about his missionary trips and his radio broadcasts according to Gruss in the Four Presidents book.

according to one of our friends who visits our local laundromats the literature is out of control.

guess its time to do some real educating aka jw un-witnessing.

throwing the mags away just keeps the dubs bring back more (and counting placements) so with my friend and husbands help we are going to "stick it to the watchtower" literally:).
