  Advertising the District Assembly on the Radio

  is this just a local practice to south florida or is it done in other areas too?.

  i'm driving to work last week and on one of the most popular radio stations (primarily talk and politics) they were advertising the district assembly in west palm beach florida for next week.. it was about a 30 second spot and was the typical "everyone is invited ... no collections taken" .... etc.

  etc.. is this common in other areas ???.

  I used to play them (PSAs) when I worked in programming at a small TV station. Lots of groups send in :30s and :60s and the station is required by the FCC to devote some small percentage of their air time (like 2-3% I recall) to these.

  I would get lots from the LDS aka Mormon Church, ones on recycling, etc. I have seen the WT Society 30 second TV ads, they actually have done a few of them they are similar to the Mormon ones.

  And yes any non-profit (or non-prophet lol) group can send them in and they might get played for free. I generally tossed all the lot except for the environmental and recycling ones.

  This will only be in theaters for a good while to come. It has been in limited theatrical release for a few months and is working its way across the 48 U.S. states.

  it was six hours long.

  at the beginning of the week i had four accusers and by the time i went (half way throught the week) i was up to twelve.

  i was charged with apostasy, malicous slander, lying, revileing.

  Ex-JW Scholarship

  i think if there isnt one already, there should be a scholarship for ex-jws to get a college education.

  i dont know exactly what would be the qualifications to win the scholarship or where the money would come from..

  I belive that anyone can make a scholarship fund to be given to whomever they choose, as long as they do not take government monies or subsidies.

  in recent weeks the jw’s here in the uk have been setting up their new portable watchtower literature displays in my local town square on a saturday morning.

  as they hadn’t knocked on my door for at least five years, and consequently feeling somewhat neglected, i thought that i would pay them a visit instead.. .

  the first thing i needed to do was arrange my literature.

  Just for fun I added some yellow highlighting and a small reference to JWFacts at the bottom. I also converted it to a 4 color PNG file and it is a little smaller in size now.

  I believe getting the passwords an elder was assigned would only yield access to letters to the bodies of elders, public talk outlines, blank forms, etc. This is all avaliable online anyway and is leaked by Atlantis and others pretty fast.
