  Anonymous vs WT: sooo, was that just a big ole hoax???

  so gosh like at least 6 months ago i think i was perusing jw survey and saw rhe anonymous targeting the wt video and thought "sweet!!!

  " ...so i googled it, and nothing came up but the actual you tube video and the thing on jw survey (i posted a comment on jw survey asking about it but nobody repied.... so since it was never spoken of again i guess it was a ho-ax?

  just one dude make a fake vidoe and anonymous was never really after the wt?

  Simplified edition def. weirder... this needs to be sent to all the press outlets and local papers, etc. People need to see these are not just benign "Christians doing God's work" at their doors.

  My Walmart encounter with the dubs today

  yup, there were 3 of them camped out in front of the store with their display of materials - first time i've seen them there.

  he said he converted 5 years ago from the presbyterians, and that he had learned more in 1 year with the jws than all his time with the presbyterians (the usual stuff, jesus died on a stake, paradise earth, etc).

  he claimed he didn't know about the invisible return of jesus, he was dismissive of the impact of disfellowshipping and that people can leave with little consequence, he claimed that the romans didn't use a cross until 200 years after jesus died on the stake.

  Covering your butt and backpedaling is a universal skill no matter what religion and when you go off the script that the JWs are practiced in then it's anybody's guess what they will say.

  UPDATE:

  The filmmaker Gregorio is working his ass off to make this fillm a success. I was able to hang out with him Thursday night after the San Fran film screening and he is trying his best to get this all over the place and LA is next so let's all try and support this important film!

  Thanks Paul that's a couple more. This is one area where we need way more of these IMO and hopefully others will be made known that are already online.

  Some are transcript only. Others are audio only.

  I heard that someone was transcribing Rick Fearon's JC, which is currently audio only. I have to say irregardless of your feelings about him, he did an amazing job of showing those elders TTATT and defending his reasons for leaving the WT cult.

  Making jokes about a child that just murdered their mother is not funny or cool- it shows you have a serious problem yourself. That in my mind is a reason to lock a thread or ban a person from commenting here.

  Thanks to the OP for drawing attention to this tragedy and how it may have been WT related.

  Letter to BOE re: baptism of my minor children

  ok i posted about a month ago asking for advice on writing a letter to my former congregation regarding my children.

  my ex husband still goes to our old hall and although we have joint custody he is raising them to be good little jws on his time.

  i understand that in your organization age is not a determining factor in whether or not a person can get baptized, however as the young people ask book points out:

  Michelle I love this letter- good for you, as you are going on the offense. As mentioned, it will do little good unless the legal angle is invoked as the elders and the whole JW congregation are above the laws of man and certainly above your wishes that the children not be pressured into baptism. You are just another "ignorant wordly person" that will soon die at Armageddon and they believe they will be saving your children by dunking them into the JWs.

  I have completely de-programmed my two children over the last couple years and they now will never agree to baptism as their mother continues to urge them to do. It CAN be done- many others on here have been successful at it as well. PM me if you want to chat, and please let us know how things develop.
