had a little chat to her the other day about a couple of things.... she had the friday off school i found out so she could go witnessing with the co's wife and have lunch with them.
anyway, got to talking about the door to door work and whether she thought it was an effective method of preaching, which she does/did.
i asked her if she was aware that after 130 years of preaching that most people could not tell you what the jws believed but rather could only say what they didn't believe, and even then still get some of that wrong.
I got a little one of my own that is already partially brain-locked. Good stuff.
Also the reasoning about the number of people being born every year (in the multi-millions) and how many will have to be destroyed to save the ones that get baptized as JWs...Is waiting to bring an end to the system really "loving of Jehovah"?

And there has even been information at the meetings about not asking that question and putting someone on the spot. But that's part of the written/unwritten laws and the dichotomy of language used by high control groups.

I honestly disagree that's the case. Yes the legal dept and other pressures influence the GB, but the reasoning that THEY are the sole channel hasn't changed. In fact it has been strengthened and emphsized more and more in recent times. An old timer who used to work in the writing dept in the 70s and 80s told me that the writers regularly drop in these "The-GB-are-God's-instrument-on-earth" comments in unrelated articles to gain their trust and establish credibility with them. They are sprinkled into study articles on young ones, The life of Jesus, family, marriage, etc.
THEY are the ones holding the reins. This has been the mindest and policy at Bethel from its very inception. Power flowed from president to president and then into the GB-as-a-collective-leader in 1976, January 1. As was mentioned earlier, yes they hammer out their differences behind closed doors and ironically are the only ones among all of JWs that can freely express agreement/disagreement about scriptures, policies, etc. The legal dept. advises and warns, liberal elements within writing and the service desk exist tenuously and try to create change from within, but ultimately the GB masters set policy and rule with an iron hand inside a velvet glove. After all, Jehovah appointed them to GOVERN right? (See COC grant suiter's comment lol)
Anecdotes from a thousand websites, blogs, and post,s as well as audio/video testimonies, not to mention the published quotes from the literature bear this out.

It's about one gigabyte in size, several files in the folder. No menus, but two titles on the DVD. I don't know how to do change that to one file, maybe someone else does and can re-post...

It is one video, broken into 9 pieces. All 9 files must be downloaded and saved in the same place. Then click on the first file and 7zip will reassemble the pieces and you can export the VIDEO_TS folder to a new location. After that, you can delete the orginal zipped files and watch the video or burn it to a disc.
