When Someone You Love Is Removed As An Elder!
by Bubblegum Apotheosis inlast week we lost a wonderful elder (removed, stepped down is what i will believe) , this man was as real, as you can get.
he loved the sheep,.
his eternal optimism of humanity is a rare quality in the jw religion.

The Greatest Man who ever lived...is Catholic?
by RayPublisher infound this somewhere on a "pro jw" site thought i'd make an observation.
but here's the pic first, of wt artwork being used on a banner for a catholic group in singapore:.
and here's one of many examples of wt copyright "borrowing" as the good singapore church did:.

@BOTR - Great perspective you have. How high are these decisions made? All the way at the top. Fred Franz once said this isn't a bottom up organization its a top down organization!

@Leolaia - I remember that one. Was a silhouette picture for whiskey or something.

Well I think I like the WT artist's borrowing better! Maybe just a coincidence?

Jesus and His Disciples...were Apostates! LOL
by RagingBull inthis is just my thought after reading over the "book study" for this week.. the apostles chose to follow christ, all of them were jewish christians.
no matter where paul and silas went, the pharisees stayed harrassing them and would not leave them alone.
spreading vicious rumors and trying to have them stopped.. jws compare themselves to the apostles who were being persecuted for going to the synagogues and drawing away other jews and proselytes.

Jehovah's Witnesses can donate blood
by Marvin Shilmer injehovah’s witnesses can donate blood.
today i added a new article to my blog that answers the question of whether watchtower doctrine forbids jehovah’s witnesses from going to their community blood bank and donating some of their blood to help replace all the products from blood accepted on a daily basis by the community of jehovah’s witnesses.. .
my article is titled jehovah’s witnesses can donate blood and is available at: http://marvinshilmer.blogspot.com/2012/03/jehovahs-witnesses-can-donate-blood.html.

I like your article Marvin. But the letter does go on to state that the publisher would have to "make sure that the remaining bulk of the blood would be discarded" after the fraction(s) were removed.
That alone negates anyone from trying to "loophole" their way out of using this letter to donate blood and not be DFed. Bottom line, if you get caught donating blood, expect an announcement at the next mid-week meeting. No appeal, no judicial committee needed. You have been spiritually executed!

@JW Gone Bad - You said: " they usually will ask the individual to close with prayer"
I have heard of this notion, but I have personally never seen that done in the many (at least 10) that have been deleted/stepped down over the years in various Halls where I have been. Not once has one been called on for prayer at the end of the meeting that I've observed. Just saying...
Perhaps others have seen it done?

Watchtower Library 2011
by goddidit ini'm not religious but i am a theology student.. why does this cd instruct me to close my antivirus program before running the executable?.
innocent mistake?
i can't remember ever seeing this instruction on a legitimate executable, and i've been using computers for a long, long time..

WT library is such an antiquated program too. Having only been dumbed down, un-upgraded a couple years ago...never enhanced, never improved. Just another year of txt data added every 12 months...lame use of the technology. We could download a small patch every 3 months or something and have more recent data. It would save them money too.

Has Anyone Been Present When a Dissident Spoke in KH?
by Band on the Run ini know some dissatisified members have planned to "throw caution to the wind" when they exit and break the news as a stunning revelation of lies.
some of my funniest memories were of teachers and others terminated but since they had to finish their contract, they decided to share their insights and horrors.
in normal life, there is a certain allowance made under the circumstances.

Little Toe was respectful, earnest, sincere...and then just said I can no longer be a JW bc of my love for Jesus and what I have learned. Amazing talk.
What if all the dissident JWs stood up and calmly said "this is wrong" all at once? It would be way bigger than anything seen yet.
