wow, they have now proven that birthdays are pagan and not fit for christians!.

Just a guess would be that they were all there cleaning the KH and he took advantage of an opportunity to do what he did.

It says he was a youth group leader well we know they don't have that per se but it implies he was a JW and a member.

Interesting experience last night

i was hired to interpret for a church event in a neighboring town last night.

i did have a brief moment of thinking demon's would be jumping out to get me as i walked through the front doors of the church, hahahaha, not really, but it did feel awkward at first and i stuck very close to the other interpreter who asked me to help her.

i was definitely out of my comfort zone.. anyway last night i met james walker from the watchmen fellowship.

wow so here we are, april 25th.

3 years ago to this day something within me made me google my former religion.

it was all the the years of doubts concentrated into one all nighter to have the veil drop like a sack of shit.

okay we've all beat our chest, lamented and throttled the dead horse of aawa.. time to move on!.

i suggest those of us on j-w.n who care about creating something the right way take the trouble to get the framework going.. let's do the grunt work and get the nattering, debates, naming and organizing already pre-approved so that "others" who have the talent, ability, motivation and resources can move in and turn the key!.

because it was not done before.. there is more wisdom on this discussion board in our vast numbers than there could possibly be in a virtual boardroom with 8 people brain-storming.. that isn't an insult--it is just a statistical fact!.

Terry I think it's great that you want to get another activist group off the ground- I am with you. Who else is with Terry I wonder?

The problem is that is takes actual W O R K and that always thins the herd down a bit...a vocal few on JWnet only seem able to whine, complain, wring their hands, decry the injustices of the world and call for public lynchings.

And that's an aweful waste of energy IMO. Let's build something people!

When people pose these questions if we don't believe or have an interest in them, why be negative, or make fun of them? Why not just click on?

Some very intelligent people believe in aliens, out of body experiences, channeling, ghosts, etc. I personally am a skeptic and will be happy to believe it when I actually see it.

As Shakespeare said, there are many things out there that we do not fully understand and have not "explained away" to this day and perhaps we never will.

@ Julia - I'm not usually that theatrical at all, this was something I decided to try for a desired effect.

It is meant to be entertaining but also to emphasize the point that this is the way that WT wants you to take them- as if it's life or death on the line every time you disregard any of their edicts.

Spiritually frustrated!!

i want to practice christianity but i feel i can't just yet as i'll be 'outed' before i'm ready.

the spy network will report me to the elders, and that's it, i'm gone before i'm ready.

and before my husband is ready.. can one feel spiritually frustrated?

I know exactly how you feel Julia- the same thing happened to me after I woke up to TTATT a couple years ago. I started driving a few miles to a nearby city and went to a couple different churches just to see what it was like.

I met some incredible people, and had one minister (Church of Christ) offer to meet with me and give me some counsel. It was very helpful and he was more knowledgeable on the Bible than anyone I met when I was at Beth-hell. He wasn't looking to sell me anything or "sign me up" for his church. He told me I needed to let my light shine and that sooner or later I would be forced to choose Christ as my leader...he was so right.

Then I tried a couple non-denominational churches and liked both of them. They are fun, non-judgemental and refreshing. The music rocks and is 1,000 times better than King-dumb melodies. Please consider trying one of these out in a neighboring town. And don't sweat the small differences or little things they may have "wrong"...it's so unimportant in the grand scheme.
