by stevieb1 inthe watchtower identifies the entity babylon the great as the "world empire of false religion" with christendom being the most reprehensible part.
as far as i can gather, the society is unique in this interpretation of the identity of babylon the great.
does anyone have a take on the identity of the harlot which differs from the society's viewpoint?.

Do you know what the word "murder" means? It is the act of unlawful killing. Now, tell me, what law is God under?
The commandment commonly known as "thou shalt not murder" originally read "thou shalt not shed innocent blood". Big difference.
Now, considering the above... the people killed by God were not innocent... and the people used to carry out God's judgement were not transgressing any law.
Make your mind up. You are either an atheist or not. If you are an atheist, then why bother calling down evil upon a being you dont believe exists... otherwise, you are obviously acknowledging the existence of God.

i have been reading the book of revelation and have found that god and jesus are refered to in the same way.

Curious... Why so many planets?
by StifflersErSlayersBrother ini usually for some reason wake up pondering on my life and coming up with questions about certain things... this morning i looked out my window and thought... if god made earth for humans to live on.. then why did he create billions, and billions of planets inside billions and billions of galaxies?
if earth is the one out of allll these planets that has life on it... why?

Prove that earth is NOT the only planet with physical life. I totally agree with AGuest, if life cannot exist peacefully on one tiny little planet, then why spread it out across the universe?
Actually, AGuest... what is the deal with the face, pyramids, tunnels on Mars? The asteroid belt (is it really an exploded planet?)

by butalbee infor the last 7 months i have been involved in a "friendship" with a jw.
he really was my best friend, who i felt i could confide in and trust with my life.
i have to admit that i have never felt as close to another person before in my life, it was as though we were on the same level--he would finish my sentences, know what i was thinking, and feeling.

Oppression of Women
by MrMoe inthis is a bit lengthy, but is a very big issue with me, and that is the issue of women's rights.
i do agree with women allowing their husbands to make a final decision, being on how women think with their hearts and men think with their heads, making choices often times more logical ones.
but, the husband according to god is supposed to love his wife as his own flesh.

Jesus said to treat others as you would expect to be treated.
Now, if men who claim to be Christian decide to withhold certain things from women, JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE WOMEN, then those men should NOT be able to do those things either. Otherwise, they are hypocrites. There would be an uproar if they were told they couldnt do things because they are MEN.
