Interesting point about the WT-UN thing
by comment init's easy to document that there have been dozens of derogatory statements about the un in watchtower publications in the years since the society gained ngo status.. we already know that the brothers were not informed about this status.
and in the early 1990's, it would have been considerably harder for the brothers to find out.
why would any of them even think to visit or phone the un and ask, "is the watchtower society in any way associated with your organization?".

Newsflash....USA invades Iceland
by ISP inamerica has taken its war against terror beyond afghanistans borders and has struck another country.. .
as american bombs and missiles struck taleban targets in four afghan cities for the second consecutive night, the bush administration served formal notice at the united nations that this could be just the beginning of a worldwide campaign and that campaign has been extended to iceland.
john negroponte, the us ambassador to the un, said that the us investigation prompted military action against iceland as he had conclusive evidence that it sheltered al-qaeda and its taleban protectors...at some point, although he excepted that their might have been a spelling mistake.

Not bad ISP, but you need to work on your spelling.

I believe in aliens
by ballistic inby that i mean it's possible aliens could have visited and influenced the earth.. one of the best quotes i heard by someone who had an alien en-counter was that the aliens told them "that they didn't want to show themselves to the world because they didn't want to affect or influence our religions".
what do you think?
that sounds a bit like a prime directive to me, and could be a good reason why the aliens are simply spying on us.

ANTHRAX for sure this time! woah nelly better run!
by bboyneko inyeah like, my boss's friends uncle called me the other day and said that at least 50 crazed rabid arabs ran into the local taco bell and like threw a giant beaker marked with a skull and cross bones on the floor and then they ran away laughing, outside a helicopter dropped a rope ladder and the arabs climbed on and flew off, all the while laughing manicaly and chanting 'death to the infidels!
' .
although you may read only local newspapers reporting this incident, and although the local papers say only that 2 hispanic males ordered a mountain dew and it spilled and then they left the taco bell cursing the management, my version is the honest truth and not sensationalism at all!.

The disturbing thing about ALL religions
by Leander inover the past couple of years i've been really questioning myself about why i have doubts about the wts and even the bible.. even though i've been raised as jw all of my life i've often felt that i was'nt really a religious person.
unlike some of the people around me i just could'nt (and still can't) work up any excitement about the bible.. so after much thought i've come to the conclusion that the disturbing thing about all religions is that fear is emphasized more so than love.
some might argue and say that the bible teaches just the opposite, some will no doubt think about the scripture "god loved the world so much that he sent his only begotten son".

Religion is destructive. Revelation 13 shows us just how much so.

Special Meeting
by why144000 init seems that many were interested in the special meeting (myself included) this board seems quiet regarding the meeting and the outcomes.
what is the general concensus?
do you think that the meeting content was changed due to current events?

Maybe we will never know what really went on in that meeting.
It was probably some strange ritual preparing the "chosen" JW's for some nasty task in the near NWO future.
Seriously, something to do with restructuring of the org, and to keep Jw's on their toes.

October 7, 2001 - A Date of "Infamy" ...
by MDS inoctober 7, 2001 -- a date of "infamy" for all jehovah's witnesses earthwide .
upcoming "events" & the "great tribulation" upon mystery "israel" -- jeremiah 30:7; matthew 24:21, 22; rev.
7:14. the bible makes a number of serious "predictions" about the future of mystery "israel," ... whom i propose to be jehovah's witnesses of our time.

Now it is October 8, 2001
October 7, 2001 will be a serious "day" for all of mystery "Israel" of Bible prophecy...a day where the "reader must use discernment", a day of earth-shaking decision for all Jehovah's Witnesses earthwide. -- Matt. 24:15; Mark 13:14
Does this have something to do with the restructuring of the organisation, the damage limitation, the sly craftiness of the WTS at work? Nothing significant happened at those meetings, unless ALL who attended are not repeating what was said.I smell a failed prophecy.
