  1975 made easy

  have been reading debates on several other threads as to whether or not 1975 was predicted as the end or not.. so go to google news, type in "jehovah's witnesses 1975" or something to that effect, then narrow the results to 1970 - 1979.. actual newspapers will come up with articles about witness predictions of 1975.. from what i see, they did a pretty good job of getting the word out a la harold camping (actually i think he did a better job).

  hope this settles the issue for all time.. .

  I followed your suggestion, and found this.

  What worked for me was typing in "Jehovah's Witnesses 1975", then clicking on "Archives" on the left hand side menu.

  Thanks for the tip.

  ...or so i used to think.. what is worship?.

  not sitting listening to wtb$ corporation propoganda which is more a sales seminar than worship.. not giving talks, sermons or demonstrations designed to make you better sales persons in field misery for the benefit of your reputation when the elders jusde you.. not constantly being hypnotized to believe i am not good enough and must do more or my imaginary friend in the sky will lovingly kill me soon (terms and conditions apply and are subject to 'overlapping').

  not answering from a hi-lited piece of litter-trash at indoctrination sessions designed to make you better recruiters so the gb can have power and money.. if i were god i wouldn't consider 7.5million sheeple obeying 7 power trippers in brooklyn worship to me.....idoliary, yes.

  1 Corinthians 14:26 26 What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up.

  This verse is particularly interesting. Everyone in the church would come together and participate. Whatever they brought to the table was for sharing and edificating. Nothing like parroting every friggin' thing the WT, KM, other literature says. How is one supposed to be honest and express what they feel when all they have is the WT speaking for them?

  Romans 14:19 19 Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.

  1 Thessalonian 5:11 11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

  Salutare! Suceava is a special place in the country, which is very beautiful and the food is great and still not influenced by modern fastfood concepts. Piatra Neamt is also a great little city surrounded by mountains. I know it very well.

  Which did you like better: The Watchtower or Awake? ...and why?

  i always liked the awake better because it wasn't as preachy.

  less analyzing of what minute thing some guy in a robe and sandals did thousands of years ago and its application for our day.

  the awake seemed more secular and less dogmatic.

  Question about Disfellowshiped Relatives - Elders Manual

  i know it was discussed in a previous post, but can't remember where.

  what was said about the treatment of a relative associating with a df'd relative?.

  @The Quiet One, thank you for the clarification.

  However, the book (Remain in God's Love) stresses the importance of obedience to Jehovah's organisation, and that this is for the DF'd person's own good.

  While you may not be able to get DF'd anymore for associating with a relative, you are strongly encouraged not to, and many JW's will follow suit to keep face or to hold priviledges.

  Although, to be honest, I would like reference from before the elder book that confirms that you could be up for DF just for associating with an ex-JW relative.

  Which leads me to say, again, this is bull.

  I don't know if it's in the manual or not, but in the book Remain in God's Love, it says something to the effect that if the relative is DF'd and doesn't live in the household of the JW, if the JW continues to associate closely with the DF'd relative, they too are in line to be DF'd.

  I suppose a grace period or a warning will be given to the JW. It's still bull.

  If I were the US, and I had a potentially serious enemy developing nukes, I wouldn't hesitate to do the same.

  It's the sad reality humanity faces. Letting a potentially terrorist nation gain nukes is a no-no.

  Hey skip. My father is from Climauti, Jud. Suceava. My aunt resides in Piatra Neamt.

  I went there for the first time in 2008. It is a wonderful country.

  Eu vorbesc un pic. I was learning, but am forgetting quickly because I don't practice it. My father speaks to me in Spanish or English (go figure )

  I love Romanian cold-cuts breakfast. Very healthy and tastes great!

  I also had home made wine. THE BEST ALCOHOL I HAVE EVER TRYED.

  Tsuica is also very good, but very strong.

  i never really liked any kingdom melody they played at the kh, but i found this video of a kid who makes these songs sound pretty cool.

  he plays them on an electric distorted guitar.

  (the devil's instrument...the one he uses in heavy metal)).
