  Blondie, your opening post describes quite well what I was thinking as I had to sit through the study today.

  I thought Jehovah didn't play favoritism? I guess Jehovah's golden boys get off the hook easy.

  though i no longer believe the fds is indeed appointed by god, i guess because of what has been taught to me all these years through the wtbts, i still make an effort to try and look at both sides.

  and then i come across this number below, which is how i arrived at my title for this thread.

  Exactly. To top it off, the only "message" they had to verify was the messianic prophecies concerning Jesus. It had nothing to do with looking for an organization. Once they verified that, they could accept the simple message.

  No. Then again, love is a very subjective concept and broad word. Love is ultimately the greatest unselfishness that can be displayed, in benefit of another than one's self. You can't judge art empirically. It is something scientifically unmeasureable, because it depends on the people, time, culture, etc.

  Meta, even if they dropped, that is only a temporary thing. As the ice caps melt more, where is the water going to end up? In the atmosphere as well? Doubt it.

  i'm on page 90 right now...the info is definitely new and gives me a totally diff view as to how i used to think of faithful and discreet slave.

  i was thoroughly disgusted with the way the brothers handled the oral sex and leadership problem and the insight on the scriptures book...... still have alot of questions though.

  then, some smart merchandizer started advertising an incessant message: your breath stinks, your teeth aren't white, you're pits are odious, and hey lady, you've got a moustache on your lip!.

  suddenly made self-conscious by these accusations the world scrambled to stock their bathroom cabinets with billions of dollars worth of the products!.

  my firend (who is an elder) recently sent the email below trying to get me to come back.

  he freely admits the faults of the wt and even goes on to say that even if they did not have gods holy spirit, he felt they would still have gods blessing as the one true religion.

  i thought i would get your thoughts on this as it really is (sadly) delusional.

  Why is it that if you hear one apologist JW, you hear them all? Why am I not surprised that what your friend said is almost verbatim what someone told me?

  It always boils down to the same argument. Where do you go? Anywhere but JW land my friend, anywhere.

  I saw on the History Channel yesterday the Atacoma Desert, the driest place on earth. The geologist broke open a random rock sitting on the surface of the desert. According to the number of pyroxenes (a mineral formed inside the rock based on the amount of solar radiation received throughout its existence), one can tell how old the rock is. The rock she broke open hadn't been touched for 22 million years.
