Us city folk don't usually get that priviledge....
But I agree. Observing nature is truly humbling, relaxing (and good for ya brain )
i enjoyed this interview with neuroscientist david eagleman.
i've pasted a sample of it, below.
there are roughly 50 galaxies or 10 trillion stars per person in the currently known universe.

i continue to think that this device has survived too much examination to be completely fake.
the remaining question is how efficient is it?.
The only other problem would be, how long would said fuels (nickel and hydrogen, although I know hydrogen is very abundant) be available to us. And, there is the problem of having to extract hydrogen, which isn't exactly cheap nor efficient.
It is good that people are pushing new technologies, but ultimately I believe a change in the way society at large functions would be alot better, for the environment and in the long run.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Not to take away from your already hilarious post.
in some previous posts i have asked certain questions that still haven't been answered.
so without going back to those threads and possibly de-railing them i thought it best to make a new topic.
please bear with me.. i have asked certain ones to prove the existence of god or christ without referencing any biblical writings or characters.
The discussion on God (adnauseum) in the world so far.
A Theist: This is THE God, the only true God, the one I believe in and the only one that exists. My version is truth [Allah, Yahweh (Trinitarian, Modalist, Monarchist, etc.)]. I am open to investigate new evidence, however, and reformulate my ideas and beliefs based upon such new findings (hopefully, but not likely).
A Deist: God certainly must exist, but given the probable fallability of any so called 'Holy Book', I subscribe to no such defined constraints (religion). I am open to investigate new evidence, however, and reformulate my ideas and beliefs based upon such new findings (hopefully).
An Atheist: I can't see God, nor prove his existence, therefore I find no room to believe in him. I am open to investigate new evidence, however, and reformulate my ideas and beliefs based upon such new findings (hopefully, but not likely for the 'hardcores').
I suppose I am a deist at this point. I do not subscribe to a specific set of religious dogma/practice, but the evidence for a Creator seems too great for me. I am happy to share my point of view, but endevour not to be evangelistic. To each their own. It has been repeated many times, but I will quote it again, "Religion is a snare and a racket."
My 'beef' with God is why? Why such an intelligent creator allows all this craziness in the world to ensue? Why all the religious beliefs? Why do it through an ancient set of writings? Why not reveal yourself to the WORLD, in a manner befitting an ALMIGHTY GOD? Why not make a CLEAR CASE for yourself, and your identity?
no, not the joe walsh song.
one of our last co visits, he was railing on the apostates who can't just shut up and be quiet.
rabble rousers.
he was railing on the apostates who can't just shut up and be quiet.
Why the need to rail, if the JW's are right? Maybe the 'apostates' can't 'just walk out'?
Our voice of dissent is being heard. LET US LEAVE HONORABLY!
recently i remembered another example which shows how hateful and unchrist-like the witnesses are brainwashed into being.. a long time ago, when i was a pioneer, i was hanging out with a group of long-time pioneers after the district convention, in the stadium hallway.
some had been pioneering for more than 10 years and therefore were considered to be spiritually mature.
a woman who appeared to be a sister was walking by; she paused and greeted us and said something like, "what a great program that was.
It's the classic falacy called "The ends justify the means."
Whereas a Witness might reason, "Shunning will lead to repenting or spiritual cleanliness for our organization, therefore shunning is of the utmost priority",
a true Christian will try to discern where a person currently stands (morally), and act accordingly.
The good Samaritan and the Prodigal Son come to mind.
sorry i pressed enter on the last topic by mistake.
anyway, in the new december 1st, public edition of the wt, in an article titled "will the earth survive 2012?
" an actual paragraph says this:.
Just read any pre 1995 Awake in the preface.
Total bull crap.
i am in a spiritual void at the moment after a year out of the borg and 50 years in.. i'd like to hear 'brief' evidence for the existance or non existance of god/s without an argument between members here.. i'd like to get fresh view points as mine is now so critical it's telling me to be an agnostic or atheist.
why?
i am in want of evidence, not just words from a copy/paste troll & no links.. i just want to open up to new possibilities but with evidence to support it not just 'faith'..
Only you can convince yourself. You must reconcile your world view and see if and where God could fit.
a short while ago i provided a 20-page study showing that the destruction of jerusalem was avoidable whereas the seventy years could not be avoided.. i have produced a 4-page condensed version of that study, and it is available at:.
http://www.jwstudies.com/what_the_bible_really_says_about_jerusalem_s_destruction.pdf.
doug.
Doug, thank you for clearing that up for me. I had never really understood what was going on.
A must read for all those that don't understand the distinction between the desolation of the nations of 70 years and the destruction of Jerusalem.
there exists an archaeological site in south- east turkey called gobekli tepe, which is dated at close to 12,000 years old .
pre-dating the biblical account of the creation of man by at least 6,000 years.
the site is notable for it's religious temples, built by people with only simple rudimentary tools etc.
Hey sizemik. This is also in a NatGeo magazine.
Anyways, I question the validity of these datings. How do we know how accurate archaeologists' datings are?
