I hunt for grasshoppers to feed our pet lizard
I bake great king-sized chocolate-chip cookies for my son's lunchbox
I took the long way home to avoid a confrontation
only to run into the person I was avoiding anyway.
She had taken the same route as I to avoid me
I do sketches of my children
I took pictures of my son catching falling autumn leaves
I love sushi but can't find any close to home
I made guitars for my kids out of wood scraps, cardboard and fishing line

Tell us something we don't know
by ballistic inabout yourself.... my pc is in my bedroom.
i do, in fact, have a pc in each room connected by a lan, but this is my pc and this is my very comfortable corner where i like to chill out, play mutliplayer games over ther internet, and of course post numerous fluff posts at jwd.
just by me is a window which, until last week, looked out on some beautiful trees.

Is God Overdue?
by SpannerintheWorks inbefore i state anything, i would like to state the following:.
1. i am not necessarily stating that god exists.. 2. i am not necessarily stating that god does not exist..
o.k., that over, just something to get other people's opinions about.. there are hundreds of different religions out there, all of which contradict each other in at least one fundamental way.

Maybe She's like earthly mothers, who give life
but cannot always shield their offspring from being
harmed or causing harm to others?Just an idea ...not really sure about the whole Creator thing anyway...

Read this retraction
by ashitaka in"the daily evergreen would like to sincerely apologize for an injustice served to the filipino-american, spanish-speaking and catholic communities on the front page of thursday's evergreen.. .
the story "filipino-american history recognized" stated that the "nuestra senora de buena esperanza," the galleon on which the first filipinos landed at morro, bay, calif., loosely translates to "the big ass spanish boat.
" it actually translates to "our lady of good hope.".

I'll Be Home When You Wake Up
At sunset she kissed the girl
I'll be home when you wake up
Be good and help your daddy
I'll be home in the morning
Standing at the embrasure
Her chin resting on small fists
A pale face stares through the pane
Like a sad jack-o-lantern
She watches the black Falcon
Backing out of the driveway
Mommy's hand flashing goodbye
I'll be home when you wake up
She rests her five-year-old hand
Softly on the still warm glass
The girl stays by the window
Even after Mommy's gone
She watches the street, waiting
The sun slides, twelve minutes pass
Almost on cue, Nick drives up
Like always when Mommy's gone
He's come to drink with Daddy
She runs from the window then
And wriggles under her bed
Hiding from his whiskey scent
Nick is calling her name now
In a friendly sort of way
Silently holding her breath
She dissolves into the floor
She is gone, she is not there
Holds her breath she is not there
Her eyes are closed she can see
Mommy's hand waving goodbye -

Who Will Jesus Choose: Civilised or Uncivilised?
by Muslim inthe question is, if jesus (pbuh) was to come back to earth, which i beleive he will (i don't know how), who would he rather live with, the civilised christians of europe/america or the un-civilised taliban?.
before you make you decision, let me paint the broader picture.
in the civilised west, you have civilised (liberated/free) women, who make hell of alot good porn movies, who are very good for advertisement business, they are willing to reveal their full naked bodies, to attract more custmers.

In the super markets the ladies working at the checking out counter wear, very thin, short and very revealing clothes, the carrier bags are deliberately placed under the desk so the lady has to bend down to pick them up, and while see is doing all that, the customer gets the glimpse of her breasts, and the next time the same customer comes back to see more of them.
Wow, could you let me know where this supermarket is?
I guess I've been shopping at all the boring ones.... -

TRICKY SITUATION update
by bay64me insome of you responded to a recent thread http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.aspx?id=35873&site=3.. last week i was confronted by the lady next door asking me if i had reported her to the social services.
i had not and told her so.
she then went on to say that although her partner and her did have loud arguments, the children were not at risk.

Bay64me, You are afraid of this guy and I don't blame you for feeling that way.
Despite the fear, you decided to reach out and do something.
You know, there are some people who would have just shut their eyes, closed their ears to the situation.
I don't know who you are, but I have tremendous respect for you.
Yes, call a women's shelter and tell them what the deal is.
When I fled my abuser I wrote down what had been happening to me
and gave it to a volunteer at the woman's shelter.
My (then)husband's actions horrified and frightened her.
She called the police and made a report.
Yes, she was afraid, but she did it anyway. Just like you.
You knew there were no guarantees as to what the outcome would be.
But you decided to do something anyway. You are concerned about
her safety, about her babys safety. What a kind, caring thing you have done
for her.
But it may be a tricky situation to befriend her, as you have stated,
and not get sucked into waters that may be treacherous. If you can accomplish
this, my hat's off to you.
I must say that the woman who helped me at the shelter,
while doing a wonderful thing for me, did not
befriend me. She did not need to do that to help me. She showed great
understanding, non-judgemental compassion, but we didn't need to
become friends for her to do that. She just did the right thing.
Just like you.
