Yerusalyim, you got my curiosity up about "anecdotal evidence suggests that ANYONE who plays Jesus has problems".
Is this just one of those unlucky roles for actors? What have you heard?
just came home from seeing...the passion...after the movie there was a question and answer session with two rabbis that viewed it with us...and three priests from my parish...more on that at another time...though both rabbis said in their opinion the movie is not antisemetic, but that it could (would) stir up antisemetic feelings in those who already possessed them.. the movie was an overall good one.
it was interesting trying to figure out some of the symbolism...what did the baby represent???
i think i know, but i'd like to hear mel's take on it.. pretty gory stuff, not quite what i thought it would be, but still quite yucky.

you know the drill...... knock at the door...... i was expecting the engineer from hoover who was coming to fix my washing machine today, instead the second i opened the door, i somehow knew it wasn't him.
a young couple, pleasent looking and genuinely nice began the spill i have done so many times, and yet rather than say something, i just sort of froze, and went into the interested householder role.
i felt like i was in the tms again on the stage doing a presentation.
Scooby, PM me if you'd like to see some of my online scribblings. I'll send you the link.
Big Tex, you're one funny guy, lemme tell ya. LoL. If anyone would win a JWD contest, that person would be you.
Take care.

What else can you do? You could be honest if you get recognized and tell them that you have no explaination other than that you just "froze up".
Keep your chin up, Scooby .

Next time they come around, offer them something cool to drink.
If you are recognized, you could explain that your evil twin was house-sitting on the day of their initial visit.
a thought experiment:.
scene a: imagine you're at the controls of a trolley and the brakes have failed.
you're approaching a fork in the track at top speed.
LoL Mr. Ben... there's this one guy who used the seat cushions to stop a runaway trolley...why use a human as a braking mechanism when some other inanimate object will do...lol...

after reading megadudes review of what he thought of the movie, i really want to see it now.. gore doesn't really bother me in movies, like braveheart, saving private ryan etc.
i hate the slasher movies for the sake of gore thou.. i guess i am the type of person that is so curious about everything, that even if it is gorey, i would want to know what jesus went thru, as painful as it may be to watch.. but should you let your children see it........ since i havent seen it , i was wondering for those who have seen it,,,,,,,,would you let your kids see it?.
what age,,do you think is appropriate ?
Even though I haven't yet seen it, I would not allow my kids to watch it. Too bloody gorey, I think.
My youngest wouldn't be able to read the subtitles anyway....
