My Dad died this evening

i thought i would let you know that my dad, passed away a little while ago, tonight, january 23. they called me at 6pm to tell me.

he had been failing rapidly for the past month, and had completely lost his hearing and was totally blind.

the dementia was extreme too, and he still knew me on thursday, but didn't wake up to know me in the following days.

The "only" way? What about the offspring of Jehovah's Witnesses, when they get baptized? Does that not add to its membership?

Spelling and grammar why?

so many of you feel the need to slam a poster for spelling errors and grammar.

does it make you feel big and smart?

don't assume that you are, for example i have taken two comprehension iq test not the simple internet iq test but the real iq test and have received in detail my break down.

I didn't take extra English classes nor did I go to college, so that argument doesn't hold. And my daughter has been homeschooled for 14 years and she has better spelling/grammar skills than 90% of the people on this board, so that argument doesn't hold either. ;

No argument here. Obviously, it doesn't hold for your situation. I'm glad your daughter wasn't homeschooled "JW style" like I was.

Like I said, I never saw any spellcheck blasters when it comes to support on the board, and I hope I never do.

I'm not sure who you saw being slammed for spelling and grammar errors, but certainly hope it wasn't anyone who was on the site for some support. I personally haven't really seen anything like that happen, and I hope it never does .. consider the possibility that their spelling/grammar mightn't be the best due to the fact that they and/or their parents were misled by an organization that marginalizes education. They might have been cheated out of a good education by being homeschooled "JW style"...

i would think that you make friends and suddenly you don't exist.

i would think a board like this is a true godsend.

Like a hard, swift kick in the guts. The lingering effect is questioning whether they really ever loved you in the first place.

i wish he still posted but i guess he's said all there is to say.
