  Some people actually believe that "mixed race" couples
  should think twice about having children? Why? Because
  some ignorant fools will try and make life hard for their children?
  To decide not have children just because their racial composition
  is, to me, rather sad.

  The following is a very short list of people whose parents,
  I am glad to say, did not allow that kind of negative thinking
  stop them from having children:

  Yes, there needs to be a solid foundation for marriage.
  
  I just think it is sad when all the right ingredients
  for a great relationship are there, but it is never
  given a chance because of being afraid of how
  other people might react to seeing two human
  beings who are from different "races" being together.
  
  I used to be roomates with a guy who was
  of Italian ancestry who fell for a woman who
  was of Chinese ancestry.
  He stopped dating her because of worrying about
  disapproval from his parents, he was worried
  about being harrased about it.
  
  It may have worked out. It may not have. But he never
  had the courage to find out, and he told me that
  was one of his biggest regrets.

  Someone actually felt the need to ask this question.

  What about following your heart?
  How about being true to your feelings and not
  basing your decisions on fear?
  
  When someone is in love do they REALLY
  need permission to act on those feelings?

  Demon at My Daughters House

  Why we dont tell....male abuse

  why we dont tell(apologies for this veeery long post).. i cant even express how much i am behind silentlambs right now though i may be overly concerned by the latest letter sent out im sure bb knows what hes doing and all will become clear, and even if its a mistake then we have to allow for mistakes as long as they dont cost lives like wt mistakes do.

  bb is only a man and hed be the first to admit that.. i know the majority of people on this board totally understand why an abused child doesnt tell they have been abused straight away, as far as i know there has only been one buff here that suggested all abused people should speak out straight away or not expect help later simply because someone touched them!

  like all of you i switched off to this jw clown but began wondering how many more people or jdubs are taking such a pathetic outlook (very few i guess).

  You are brave for saying it out loud even though
  talking about what happened may feel "wrong" for you
  right now.
  
  Some of us are so fearful and ashamed that we want the abuse
  to remain a secret just as much as the perp does, tho
  it's obviously for different reasons.
  
  You are so right, it is very hard to tell right away.
  Just because one doesn't report it immediately
  does not diminish what happened...the passage of time does
  not absolve the guilty.

  Am I damaging the silentlambs cause?

  one of the few unfounded (i think) accusations that have been thrown at me by certain people is that i have caused 'untold damage' to the silentambs cause.. i don't know quite what this is supposed to mean or what i'm suppoed to have done or whether it is anything more than just 'mud' flung by people who find it easier to criticise rather than actually do anything.. over the last year (is it?

  ) i've been happy to promote the silentlambs cause and have hosted links to bills site and vidoes / sound files of tv programmes, radio reports, photo's of the march etc... as well as providing a place for people to meet and arrange things.

  i hope it has been useful and helpful to at least some people.. if i have inadventantly held things up in some way then i unreservedly and wholeheartedly apologise.. all i can say is, i do my best and may not always get things right.

  Vidar Lillelid, who was an active Jehovah's Witness, approached
  Cornett and Howell at the rest stop in order to discuss his religious views. He was
  accompanied by his son, Peter.
  
  Eventually, Risner and Bryant joined the
  conversation. Meanwhile, Mrs. Lillelid and her daughter, Tabitha, were seated at a
  nearby picnic table. After a time, Risner, Bryant, Howell, and Cornett joined the
  entire Lillelid family and continued their conversation.
  
  At some point, Risner displayed one of the guns and said,
  "I hate to do you this way, but we are going to
  have to take you with us for your van." As he then directed the Lillelid family into
  their van, Vidar Lillelid pleaded with the group, offering his keys and wallet in
  exchange for permission to remain at the rest stop. Risner refused.
  
  Vidar Lillelid drove the van while Risner, still armed, sat in the
  passenger seat. Risner, Bryant, Howell, and Cornett were in the van with the
  Lillelids. Mullins and Sturgill followed in Risner's car. In an attempt to calm the
  children, Delfina Lillelid began to sing. Bryant purportedly ordered her to stop.

  My god, what happened to these people is so horrible.
  But I don't believe the fact that they were Jehovah's
  Witnesses has anything to do with why they were targeted.
  They were at the wrong place at the wrong time.
  
  Tragic.
  
  Why did not God save them?
  How could HE just watch as
