The moment the light went on in this newbies head!

i always knew as a kid tt wasnt for me.

i did not know ttatt but how could something thats supposed to be warm, loving and beneficial feel so wrong?

the light went on when i happened to be watching some chat show that had a family of white supremecists on.

i'm a new member & i'd like to say hi to everyone, intoducing myself.. i am a 3rd generation born-in at mid 50's & an active elder.. english is not my mother language, so pls ignore any grammatical errors.

i live in a small country in europe.. i'd like to thank you for all information posted.

some of them have rally helped me to understand and examine again my beliefs.. last new light concerning f&ds=gb has verified the idea that they are popes in the position op pope.. i still believe in god & in his son jesus christ but not in the gb..

Is anyone here hooked on Downton Abbey?

my wife got me started watching this show last year.

we've downloaded the previous seasons on netflix and have found it to be really well done.

the story line, scenery,costumes,old cars and compelling characters have us hooked.

The last time we went to a "meeting" was actually for my SIL's wedding 3ish years ago. I was in her wedding. She had a (very) good idea of our status, but she was so H-bent on having both her SILs in her wedding, she ignored it until after her wedding. Immediately afterwards, even though we introduced them to each other, they proceeded to shun us wholly.

I content myself in knowing that I was in all her photos and thus ruined them. and I wore ruby red lipstick and fishnets.

I lost a good friend yesterday

we both helped each other this past year, as we were both dealing with the passing of people we loved.

she was a strong part of my support group.

i spend allot of time with other young witnesses my age, and am very close to a few of these friends.

my question is, is there any way to safely talk about doubts?

for instance, i've been learning allot about evolution and the science behind the flood (or lack thereof).

i would like to thank everyone who is a part of this community.

i have been abused by this billion dollar evil religion since i was born.

i am now in my late thirties and have been battling depression issues over my former abuses by this nongoverment organization.

Great story. For a second as i was reading your story I wondered if you were my brother joining before realizing another moment later that significant parts didn't add up (the abuse you suffered, for example - so very sorry). He too is an extremely gifted engineer and I suspect you both would have interesting notes to compare.

I appreciate the fondness you shared for the elder who was so kind to you - it's easy to allow suffering to create indiscriminate bitterness if one isn't careful.

Anyway, welcome to the board! You will find like-minded people here who are happy to have you in our midst.

The thing I really liked about it was that it was just tame enough, without losing any thought prococation, to be able to share with an open-minded witness or two. We actually have someone in mind, thanks again!

GIVE A PITHY recounting of what 2012 did to or for you life!

i moved in with my cousin deb and her husband bobby at the first of 2012.. this mean i didn't live alone any longer.

that was both a good and a not so good thing!.

i eat home cooked meals.

So let me give it a whirl:

I got a promotion. That's good.

I'm working way harder at a job I like a lot less. That's bad.

-----

I started graduate school. That's good.

I almost went crazy in November because of the stress. That's bad.

-----

I went on a spring break cruise with the hubby. That's good.

It was a spring break cruise. As a desk-bound gal in her late twenties who had always *hated* exercising, that's bad.

So, I decided to start exercising in March. That's good.

I became a runner and lost two toenails and acquired a perpetual backache. That's bad.

I ran my first marathon after training for 6 months. That's good.

It made me never want to run again ever. That's bad.

We bought a new house. That's good.

We're 40% underwater on the place we moved out of. That's bad.

------

Lessons learned:

Being given power over people to get them to do things your way is not nearly as effective as learning to persuade them as peers.

People will continue to seek power over influence because it feels better for the short term.

------

Looking forward to in 2013?

Deepening friendships with "worldly people" who've been friends to me.

Running another marathon that isn't quite as miserable as the first.

Putting up Christmas lights next year, just to be offensive. :-)
