I have always been of the contention that the Organization is losing their best, their brightest, their most spiritual, their best leaders, speakers and writers. It seems the longer we stayed, the more meetings we attended, the better prepared we were for meetings the greater the impact on us when we saw the lies. My husband for example, even though he is a JW on paper, rarely these days goes to meetings, and rarer still opens and reads magazines. So he really doesnt see the insidiousness of their writings, their total self aggrandizing ways, their mind control, their errors, their terror at apostates. The ones who are paying attention in "class" are the ones who will eventually go to the internet, will eventually start to question in their hearts....and hit the door, and the floor...running.

Regular meeting attenders make the best apostates!
by ozziepost inwell, it seems from the responses to the weekend poll that being a regular meeting attender was not a protection from apostasy!!
http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.asp?id=33757&site=3
strange that the wts should always 'encourage' regular meeting attendance for protection.

If you are alone and lonely you are PRIME FODDER for being sucked backing into this organization honey. I got involved with them in the first place because I was just divorced from an abusive man who would not let me have friends nor see my family. Once I was away from him I was eager to have friends so the society with all its "get togethers" seemed like an ideal place. 10 months later Im baptized and wondering how the hell I ended up there. It was because I was lonely and would do ANYTHING to be with people. They told me if I didnt get baptized they could no longer associate with me.
Get out there and meet some people hon...the world is a beautiful big place with 6.3 billion people to choose from. If you fall in love with this guy you will get sucked back in sure as Im sitting here.
:) run!

CA Kidnapping vs. JW Doctrine
by HoChiMin inthe recent kidnapping and rescue of two ca teenage girls was a dramatic event.
life and death was at it's threshold for both girls for twelve hours.
these two young ladies did not know each other and were thrust into a situation where they were able to communicate by drawing letters on each others hands at times.

by Grunt inin central florida,(orlando area) two firefighters died in a training exercise a couple of days ago.

I was just thinking too...how this funeral outline is an exact measure of how the Society thinks about their sheep. They are NOT individuals...they are NOT human beings with personalities...they can all be LUMPED TOGETHER, in a ONE SIZE FITS ALL freakin OUTLINE of a funeral talk. The speaker doesnt even have to KNOW the person who died as in this case if they are bringing somebody in from the outside to do the talk. It doesnt matter who is in the box!
Has all the warmth of wet sand in your underwear. Bastards

I guarantee they will do the standard JW Infomercial at this boys funeral figuring "he would have wanted it that way" as well as it being standard practice now to "buy out the opportune time" to witness to every captive audience. It will be repulsive to say the least. But the nonJWs will probably not even notice that it is the INFOMERCIAL because like the JW funeral I went to two years ago of my DAd friends JW husband...they inserted the deceased's NAME into the outline at various spots to make it sound like it was geared for him alone. "Dave loved the bible....Yes..Dave loved the Bible so much he wanted to share its wonderful good news of the kingdom with all his neighbors. Dave had many FAVORITE scriptures like this one at Matthew 24:14 (reads it) Dave lived by that scripture as well as this one which Dave often quoted "You are my witnesses..."
You get the idea. Except at this particular funeral when the widow stood to thank everyone for coming and to introduce her husbands nonJW children who were going to read poems they wrote about their daddy...ALL the JWs in the audience stood up simultaneously and LEFT THE BUILDING. Milling about outside and laughing and joking to the horror of the deceased's family and coworkers.
Yep..they'll read it. Somebody go to the funeral will ya and hear what they say.

Perhaps the general public who doesnt really give a rats patootie about this organization wont pay much attention to this whole thing except as it relates to "yet another organization full of pedophilia"...I believe firmly that the rank and file DO read, hear, see and care...and even if they cant say anything outloud now, it festers in their hearts, as these type of things did in each of OUR hearts, until we could contain them no more and they burst forth in a torrent of anguish. We all ended up on "this side" of the fence because we had our own last straws.
This was Joe's. He knew, Barb knew, Bill knew we ALL KNEW they would disfellowship all of them. They have been silencing anyone and everyone who dares to speak against them all along. Ray Franz being the first very PUBLIC spiritual execution I was aware of.
I believe that the good hearted ones ARE LEAVING this organization. And we all know that takes time. It took me five years to actually leave once I knew I was leaving...FIVE YEARS. So have patience my loved ones...the exodus is happening like the beginnings of a Tsunami...silently under the waters until it builds the power to explode out onto the land. Wait for it.

Theocratic War Strategy at my house
by freeman inwell it looks like i find myself in the middle of the jw battlefield once again fighting the borg for nothing less then the soul of my younger son.
many months ago i had forbidden my full-blown dub wife from bringing my young boy to cult programming, i mean meetings anymore.
at issue was the shunning and blood issue.

Free: I have three kids, ages 13, 11 and 7, and a husband who is still a JW. I was in for 13 years and DAd myself in Jan 1997. The kids never wanted to go to those meetings. And when I first left, I allowed my husband to take the kids. He used them mostly as pawns, to gain sympathy....Oh POOR Brother LovesDubs with the apostate wife! The kids saw me however as betraying THEM by allowing Dad to drag them to meetings in monkey suits and allow him to make them answer inane questions that they had no appreciable understanding of anyway. It was a very touchy situation. I want my marriage to stay together (and we are still together after 5 years of this battle) but I also needed my kids to know why there needed to be a balance. So..over the years I have brought my "normalcy" into their lives with holidays, family gatherings, birthdays, sports, school activities...so that they can see how life is supposed to be LIVED and enjoyed. I and YOU...know more about this Cult than its members, our spouses do...and they wont see the bad things. They REFUSE to see the bad things. But the kids are still willing to look. And little sponges that they are, they will be looking at YOUR behavior in all this. And whether or not you are the crazy beast that the WTS describes you to be.
The trick is not to become that nutcase even in the desperation to "save" your kids. The kids will decide for themselves in due time. As long as you give them a steady stream CALMLY of what YOU believe and what YOU have found about Mommy's religion. My kids have seen in the last 5 years, their own grandmother and their aunt and uncle and all the people we loved, shun mommy...they see how I am not welcome any more even to the homes of the people I named them after. And now...my mother in law has left the Borg after 23 years and now Grandma is shunned by her own children and the JW grandchildren. They are appalled and horrified by this. And...the result is they are moving away from the JWs. But they are doing it in such a manner that they dont want to hurt Daddys feelings either. The kids should not be made to CHOOSE a parent.
Free...Im not in another religion now, wont ever be either, but if you believe in God...believe He will help you in this. Swallow that urge to strangle them all, and make yourself the calming element in the childrens lives. The result will be that Mommy and her co-conspirators will look like the maniacs.
Ive been to court cases specifically dealing with this situation JWs against EXJWs for custody over a child and the court REFUSED to make custodial decisions based on the degree of spirituality one parent had or didnt have over the other. The court decided based on the needs of the child and said that EACH parent had the right to teach the child their religion. He awarded JOINT custody and told the shunned parent to "get over it" and find new friends. The Watchtower society was there with their minions behind the JW parent loading the judge with lie after lie after boldfaced lie too. IT was disgusting to watch. Just know they are TOTALLY capable of lying in court so dont even try to go there. All you have to do is read the "What to do In Child Custody Cases" brochure they put out about how to act and what to SAY in court to know thats true.
The harder you push, indeed, the more entrenched they will become, circling the wagons against you. And KNOW THIS..they are not BEYOND KIDNAPPING YOUR CHILDREN AND DISAPPEARING INTO AN UNDERGROUND OF JWS. Its happened several times.
Tread lightly. Keep your wits about you.
