It wouldn't be that hard to insert a program that records all the websites you visit and then report them to the org. And I wouldn't put it past them.

my strange neighbor

I had a neighbor that would do the same thing. I work nights and the garbage would be picked up before I got home so I didn't know it was happening. Then I started getting notices that I was required to put all of my trash in bags and that loose trash would not be picked up. I didn't know what they were talking about so I just ignored it. I live alone so I usually only had 2 bags in the bin, one from the house and one of dog poop. Imagine my surprise when I came home one morning to an overflowing garbage can of loose trash with a note stapled to it saying they were not picking up my trash unless it was bagged. It looked like they just filled up kitchen garbage cans and then dumped them in my bin.
I asked around and found out who it was. I confronted him and asked him to just bag his trash if he was going to use my bin. He told me to f off, that he would use my bin if he wanted, and that there was nothing I could do about. I proceeded to dump the bin in his yard. This continued for a few weeks until he gave up and started using another neighbor's bin. Everyone on the block knew what was going on so they would dump his trash in his yard if he used their can. He eventually stopped but he never got his own bin. I don't know what he did with his trash.

BP, I'm good. I'm also single, hot, and rich. Well, at least one of those last three statements is true.

Rutherford 1942 "Don't have kids till after Armagedon...Watchtower 2008 same advice!! Sick!
by Witness 007 ini was shocked to read in the "witnesses only" study watchtower this stupid rutherford policy was still in place, compare.. rutherfords last book "children" {ironic title} 1942 - page 281 "wait until after armagedon to bring children into the world...it is only afew years...until armagedon...those with infants will have greater woe...it will be a far greater difficulty to care for them during the tribulation...".
so if you were 20 years old in 1942 and waited......till 2011.....do the math.. wachtower 2008 april 15 p.19 "heading: "single and childless for a noble purpose.
" ...numerous couples have decided to remain childless...to remain free to serve jehovah...putting kingdom interests above some of the privledges that go with marriage...jehovah will not forget...there will be a great tribulation...it will be a difficult time for us adults and children alike...".

Maybe there will be new light that having children shows lack of faith in the Governing Body, that if you do you are DA'ing yourself (like willingly accepting a blood transfusion), and then the religion will die off.

Association: Am i being lied to?
by roxanesophia ini don't hesitate to bring up with the girl i study with, my criticisms of the religion, and one of those is the association.
i keep reading on here that jw's don't make friends outside the cult, and this is what i used as an excuse for stepping further away from being baptized.
she tells me it's not true, and they can have what ever friends they want.
-

She didn't lie. You can be friends with whoever you want and do whatever you want. The problem is you risk getting reproved or DF'd if you do anything the org doesn't want you to do. And while you can have non-JWs as friends, you will be expected to not talk to them, hang out with them, celebrate (holidays, birthdays, etc) with them, or really have any more than the minimum contact necessary to go about your life. Now if you start a study with them then you can talk to them, and if you get them dunked then you can hang out together with a bunch of uptight people who will judge your every action and word.

Who drove the Christendom Car in Field Service?
by prophecor inthey were affectionately called christendom cars.
you know, the 2 door coupes that the friends had to struggle to get in and out of the back seat, out in service.
was it you, or did you do the spiritually respnosible thing and drive the 4 door sedan?.
-
WhatWasIThinking
I drove a four door sedan when I was first in. I got tired of the car and tired of having to drive everytime I went in field service because no one would help pay for gas and it was just expected that I would drive. The clutch master cylinder went out and I had my truck apart so I took one of the motorcycles to field service meeting one day. That didn't go over well and I got the guilt trip because now we didn't have enough room to take everyone in field service since I didn't bring my car. We actually did have enough room since no one had walked to the meeting place, but everyone was crowded into the cars that were available. Big deal, we're supposed to be walking door to door anyways.
Fixed the car and basically gave it to my little sister. Went out and bought a Christendom car and immediately lowered it which make it more difficult to get in. Took it to field service, they had me drive once and then never asked me to drive that car again. They did ask me to drive my truck once for informal witnessing, guess no one realized how loud an older diesel with an intake and full exhaust is.

1 year since my last meeting!
by Alfred ini just realized that today marks my first year since attending a meeting at the kh... i really wanted to celebrate this day but it just creeped up and its kinda late now... i guess i'll celebrate tomorrow night instead.. but i wanted to log in to thank everyone who has helped me with their valuable insight and perspective... i came to this site with a typical judgemental jw mentality and now i can say i'm completely rid of all that... i now value everyone's opinions and talk more freely with people i used to consider "worldly"... what a completely freeing experience!.
the hardest part of my exit from the cult was convincing my wife... that took about 6 months and i nearly gave up... thank god she eventually woke up.. also, in the past year i've read.... gentile times reconsideredcombatting mind controlcrisis of conscience*in search of christian freedomapocalypse delayed*3 books out of the 7 "studies in the scriptures"5 rutherford books*i met 2 of the people mentioned in crisis of conscience and apocalypse delayed and had dinner with them recently... hoping to build that relationship further.. i've also sent about 26 emails to several elders on a variety of subjects and 6 letters to the brooklyn and i'm still not da's or df'd!
none of these emails or letters changed anything but it helped me purge.... i could go on and on but it's the same story you've probably read a thousand times already.. anyway, if it wasn't for all the support and encouragement i received on this site (as well as randy's site and barbara's site), i wouldn't be where i am today.. so a big thank you to you all!!!.
