This isn't a good first impression for my dad, because he is disgusted because he was trying to HELP!!!!!! and this is what happens to his second post. He has a lot more good points to bring out to try and help you people on reaching your friends and family....I know him, he's not going to help if this is what happens. And this forum will lose a very intelligent man, and I'm not just saying this because he's my father, but because he can actually think things through and reason.
If he wants to post and only have positive comments viewable then he should start a blog with moderated comments. This is an open discussion board. This forum has lots of intelligent people with lots of good points. If you start by saying how smart he he is we need his help and being thin-skinned regarding comments and complaining about "you people", well.... you aren't going to get very far with that attitude.
As I said, there are LOTS of intelligent people here. Starting out with telling people how much they need you is .... not a good start.

Apparently, people here care a great deal about it, EP. That the Church takes a dim view of gay marriage, for example, seems to be something of keen interest. Perhaps you missed that subtlety on this thread.

It may surprise you to reflect on the number of things we are evolved to do on which the Church takes a dim view.
Why should I care what the Church takes a dim view on?
So, the Church says homosexual acts are sinful in exactly the same way that acts between anyone else who is not married are sinful. But we don't suppose that the church is anti-hetero because of this. Neither is it accurate to say that the Church is anti-gay.
So two dudes boning each other is A-OK with the RCC as long as the two dudes are married to each other? I ask because that's the only way in which considering gay and hetero sex sins in the same way which is currently NOT the RCC's position. Are aware of the new pope getting some new light which hasn't gone public yet?

The idea of a common ancestor is what most people call a theory, speculation, an idea to be explored.

Since you dont understand that, I doubt you understand the issue of whether or not we evolved froma common ancestor. The law is simpler and easier to understand than biology.

James, we get it. You somehow think spending 10 working in a jail qualifies you to talk about the law or about biology. It doesn't.
However, since I love to watch a good trainwreck, why don't explain to me why the following are NOT evidence for common ancestry and provide an alternative explanation supported by observation. I'll give you a few choices:
1. Endogenuous retroviruses
2. Chromosome 2 fusion with a vestigial centromere and telomeres
3. Universal biochemical mechanisms and structure.
