  in our separation agreement I put in there that the children can't be baptized in ANY religion until they turn 18. I know she will protest that, but i already have my reasoning ready for JW think....if they WANT to get baptized and big bad dad won't let them and armageddon comes, he will understand that i was preventing it.

  anyway, the day ended well, he was more upset about me not being honest with him. we talked it out, i explained that I just didn't want to hurt his feelings. I promised him that i would not do that again and respect him as a person and tell him the truth, even if I knew he wouldn't like it. he liked that idea.

  Why did Jesus come to Earth as a man?

  jesus lived in heaven as a spirit person before he came to earth.

  god used him as his chief spokesman.

  that is why jesus is called "the word.".

  I'm new to the whole JW religion - Can someone please explain the basics?

  i recently began a wonderful relationship with a guy who also happened to be a jw.

  i have learned alot about him and how the religion effects his life and now i am interested in learning more about the religion - but from a beginners' point of view.

  could anyone give me an idea of the basic beliefs and practices of jws?.

  Again, thanks for the kind words.

  A quick update, we had a talk today and he was mainly upset about the lie. I explained how it happened and he eventually understood. We ended up having a great day, played tennis, went for ice cream, wrestled, went swimming, grilled steaks. I grilled 3 filet mignons and 1 flat iron steak, about 12 oounces. I got about two bites of my steak before I surrendered it to the starving kids after such a busy day.

  It will all work out in the end, I am sure, but like a wise poster here wrote, it will be two steps forward, one step back for a while. Just gotta get them out of this cult.

  of course jesus is important in the lives of jw's, but they worship jehovah!.

  hence, are they christians or jehovians?.

  Insofar as the profess faith in the jesus, they are. But, like many others that do so, they are not in practice.

  Heaven, I misunderstood your post, my apologies. Yeah, I know I will need to show them, from the Bible, that even if you believe in the Bible the JW's are still wrong.

  my dad said that didnt understand how a person could be atheist or agnostic.
