Please don't think I don't sympathise . . . I spent over 25 years a JW and raised three sons who are now young adults like yourself
You mentioned how it might feel for someone . . . a mormon I think . . . if his beliefs were challenged. Now . . . you came onto this site and posed your questions . . . and I take you at your word . . . I am simply responding in a way that, I believe, will benefit you the most. I have offered the same to the three young men mentioned above . . . and they are leading balanced, happy, enjoyable and rewarding lives . . . isn't that what you're after?
You ask the posters here for a list . . . when the answers to anything regarding the misguided doctrinal decrees, the history of Jehovah's Witnesses, the Society's record on child molestation, the mis-behavior of past leaders etc etc . . . is already here! The are numerous threads . . . even recently, on countless subjects . . . many of them have extremely valuable comments from learned and experienced people . . . added to that there are scores of references to authoritative articles, links to reliable information on the net . . . . matters of public record, and so on . . . have you searched these thoroughly? . . . you don't even have to leave the site, but by all means make your search as extensive as possible.
You see, only you can do that . . . the posters here know the folly of NOT doing so earlier than they did . . . YOU must make that search for YOU
There are millions . . . yes millions of ex-JW's who have faced a 'crisis' that has prompted them to re-evaluate . . . and have subsequently rejected this religion. Additionally, if the good news is indeed being preached "in all the Earth" . . . then there are BILLIONS who have heard and rejected the JW religion . . . surely you don't believe that each and every one of them has been "blinded by Satan" . . . that's simply sanctimonious bullshit.
Basically, my friend . . . you're trying to make a call without all the information you need. If you examine matters thoroughly and objectively and then choose the JW religion . . . fine . . . enjoy paradise. The mistake, whatever you choose, is to fail to make your search . . . you remain open to deception and confusion . . . and many troubles.

craziest reason elders wanted to have a commitee meeting with you
by glentrevette ini had a sister who was a tenant in my house and her car was leaking oil all over my newly paved driveway before she moved in i had a condition on the lease that said if her car leaked oil she couldnt park there and i told here after she moved in that she was being deceptive to me when she said her car didnt leak oil she was good friends with a lot of powerful elders in the hall and would you believe they asked to meet with me 3 elders in the back room of the library because they said i had called this sister a liar i got out of it only after i produced a copy of the lease and pictures of the oil mess if i hadnt of had pictures maybe i would of been dfd.

Classic tale . . . often told. It's not the facts that are necessarily important to Elders . . . it's looking after thier "friends" . . . don't they just love thier job! . . . 3 of them and a meeting . . . when a quiet word from just one on the side would have sufficed. JW's who are cosy with the Elders just love to let them out of thier cage . . . I think you need to be more strict as a landlord . . . put the rent up? . . . I hope you at least get her to pay for cleanup now the truth of the matter is established.

I posted because I am anxious for you . . . not to condemn you . . . but I believe the points I made are valid.
If it appeared as if I was ticking you off a bit, I can't apologise for that . . . because I still feel you need to bring a greater degree of maturity into your decision making . . . I'm sorry if that hurts . . . but please . . . try and take it on board.

When I joined I did so with such enthusiastic haste, I used my actual name. I still have no worries about doing so, but I kinda felt slightly conspicuous and out of step with the norm . . . call it low-level cult like behavior if you wish but I got to thinking . . .
I didn't choose my actual name . . . my parents did. Now I have the opportunity to "choose" . . . so I have. Consequently I will be posting under the above henceforth.

deservingone26 . . . respectfully my young friend . . . the reasons you left the JW's (or were kicked out for) were exeedingly poor ones . . .
I really thought I was missing out though by not being able to celebrate holidays not being able to choose who i associated with. and not being able to do things like play violent video games or watch R rated movies.
Equally . . . your reasons for wanting to return are even worse
i have never actually looked into full detail of any other argument
I have learned that you have to love yourself and put yourself first before others because 90% percent of the time thats what everyone else doing. I feel like this step is best for me because i do believe in god.
My whole family from my mom, dad, sister, aunts uncles cousins grandma they are all witnesses and I am really fighting to be out for what?
