Any JW, please help- I need just one thing!
by moshe in--the name of a real live (not dead) member of the faithful and discreet slave class- someone who has admitted in public they are one of the f&ds and who can verify they have been providing the "meat in due season" for the governing body.
obviously the gb can't be the f&ds, because they are neither discreet nor do they have a position of servitude- no, they have made it plain they are the bosses over jws and jws have to obey their words, as if jehovah and jesus were speaking them, or else they will get the disfellowshiped.
just one verifiable name will do and how you obtained it.. the governing body claims that the f&ds are directing them and the worldwide work of jws, but they have never proven that they have a f&ds class they communicate with- just have one of the annointed call bethel and ask to speak to one of the gb and see what the switchboard operator does with their call.

There are a number of interactive tools enabling a close examination of what took place . . . ie; you can speed up the sequence and select various periods of activity. You can also pause the sequence and hover the pointer over specific Quakes to determine depth, magnitude etc.
The map will open beginning with day one . . . the main Earthquake occurs around 14:40 JST on the clock at the top.
It's a very interesting and informative site for those with an interest in Seismology. but also very informative for all, as to what the Japanese people have had to endure in recent times. All of the aftershocks from mid-4's upwards will have been felt on the East Coast at least.
Speaking from experience . . . aftershock sequences such as this are extremely frightening and have a cumulative effect over time.
Anyone from Japan who has been experiencing this . . . our hearts are with you, you haven't been forgotten . . . we would love for you to comment. Others may wish to contribute also.

While there have already been a number of threads on the "Douglas Walsh" case . . . it's worth reminding ourselves that there is nothing new here. The WTS GB has pushed this line for a long time, as the following excerpt from the case (from 1954) shows;
Q. Back to the point now. A false prophesy was promulgated?

Q. It had to be accepted by Jehovah's Witnesses?
A. That is correct.
Q. If a member of Jehovah's Witnesses took the view himself that that prophesy was wrong and said so he would be disfellowshipped?

Yes, if he said so and kept persisting in creating trouble, because if the whole organisation believes one thing, even though it be erroneous and somebody else starts on his own trying to put his ideas across then there is disunity and trouble, there cannot be harmony, there cannot be marching. When a change comes it should come from the proper source, the head of the organisation, the governing body, not from the bottom upwards, because everybody would have ideas, and the organisation would disintegrate and go in a thousand different directions. Our purpose is to have unity.

A. Unity at all costs, because we believe and are sure that Jehovah God is using our organisation, the governing body of our organisation to direct it, even though mistakes are made from time to time.

Q. And the person who expressed his view, as you say, that it was wrong, and was disfellowshipped, would be in breach of the Covenant, if he was baptized?
A. That is correct.

A. It certainly is.

Without being an expert on explosives, I do wonder how much hard-wiring would be required. Demolition teams use wiring mainly on account of cost . . . but the technology allows for remotely detonated charges if cost is not such a factor . . . that would only require placement of the charges and remote detonation devices . . . easy to install . . . easy to hide . . . easy for co-ordinated detonation. Also, not many personell would be required if the placements were made over time . . . a few maintenence people perhaps . . . it wouldn't be that hard.
In respect to building collapse . . . very high buildings that are supporting a lot of weight are more inclined toward vertical collapse on account of sheer weight . . . it takes a tremendous amount of force or imbalance to move them off the vertical. Even uneven failure can give rise to a downward motion that sort of self corrects as the structual failure quickly spreads . . . you can see that on one of the twin towers . . . it begins to lean but still falls vertically, descending onto it's own footprint. Many have surmised this to be evidence of controlled demolition . . . but this is not quite true . . . certainly not enough on it's own.
Structual failure can also be very loud in the form of a sequence of explosive type booms . . . not dissimilar to actual explosives. With modern airtight buildings air compression is also extreme and travels quickly either out through widows or vertically through lift shafts and stair wells. All of these effects are amplified in magnitude the larger the building.
There's a lot to consider and weigh carefully, which is why I remain unconvinced about some (not all) aspects of some claims being made. There are certainly a lot of areas of concern however, not least the economic and political benefits that have been cited, as well as statements made by some people in a position to know certain things . . . building owners etc. It certainly would help if one whistle-blower did emerge and add some certainty.

a man i knew in england.his wife was a jw he wasnt.... i knew she had ran off with the elder..1999..was df so was the elder.. they were then reinstated -she divorced alan #1 !!!!
& married the elder another .

How should I start a brief conversation with her at the Self Check Out Lane especially when I am busy?
by Iamallcool infew days ago, i went to the grocery store, i was busy scanning my grocery at the self check out lane, then there was a gorgeous lady scanning her stuff beside me and she smiled at me.
i never smiled at her back or say anything to her because i just do not know what to say to her especially when i am busy scanning my grocery.
how should i start a brief conversation with her when i am busy in the self check out lane?
