Candace Conti's Sur-Reply is Very Effective
by DNCall inat oral argument on august 13th, the court requested additional briefing from candace regarding the punitive damages being contested by watchtower.
from the case law cited in the brief it is demonstrated that the award of punitive damages is on solid legal ground.
although the court had until august 25 to render its decision as to whether the present judgment will be altered and watchtower granted a new trial, the court docket indicates that the court has entered an order already.

Why do folks feel it necessary to announce their departure from this board?
by SadElder ini don't post often, and rarely start topics.
but, i've often wondered why folks feel the need to post their departure from this board.
they're free to leave or fade, etc.

There would be no wars for gain. No young soldier would die a bloody death for the sake of a purposely orchestrated power play.
Yeah . . . and . . .
Margaret Thatcher, Condoleezza Rice, Hillary Clinton, Madeleine Albright, Sarah Palin, Helen Clarke, Angela Merkel, Pratibha Patil, Antonella Mularoni, Julia Gillard, Paula Cox, Dilma Rousseff, Atifete Jahjaga, Yingluck Shinawatra, Helle Thorning-Schmidt, Camilla Gunell, Eveline Widmer-Sclumpf, Portia Simpson-Miller and Joyce Banda to name a few . . . are all transvestites.

Conditional love isn't love at all. . . . flipper
I'd never really thought this through before . . . but you're right. The term "conditional love" is as meaningful as "liquid ice" . . . and it's actually misleading to use the word love at all. It's interesting how it stacks up against the Bibles own definition of love . . .
Long-suffering and kind . . . does not behave indecently, does not look for it's own interests, does not keep account of the injury, bears all things, hopes all things, endures all things . . . never fails.
Conditional love accomplishes none of those things . . . not even one.

Is their anyway of quantifying how many Jehovah`s Witnesses have died due to the no blood policy since the 1940`s ?
by smiddy inthis is something i would be most interested in ,especially concerning the number of children involved ,where their deaths were veiwed as martyrs of the faith.
as an aside i would wonder how many parents who supported their childs decision to not take blood now have reservations about that decision.. surely their must be some way of identyfying how many adults have died due to their beleifs as a jehovah`s witness in abstaining from blood since the 1940`s till now .

Cheers Cedars . . . I went looking for that thread unsuccessfully. I can't believe it's 5 months old.
Smiddy will probably recall it as well.
I believe Marvin's extrapolation is conservative (eg it doesn't account for JW's who don't declare their religion on hospital records), but this only adds to the integrity of the figures IMO . . . that they are in no way exaggerated, and include only verifiable cases. The actual number may well be significantly higher.

King of the North - Missing in Action
by scotoma inthe watchtower seems to have lost track of one of their favorite endtime players - the king of.
how could they let such an important component of their prophecies vanish.. .
growing up in the 50's and 60's i fully believed the watchtowers scheme for interpreting daniel.. and it was quite believable back then.
