Wow . . . reading that made my heart race. At least one whole day of WTS's filthy laundry getting aired . . . in front of people who can act on the submissions. And that's just one group. I hope some of those filthy predators are finding urinary retention a new difficulty.

This will be a very stressful and emotional time for all those coming forward . . . I wish them all the very best. They're very brave.

I'm probably right in guessing you were very well prepared . . . you certainly seemed so. Elder experience is an advantage but not essential . . . so long as you're well prepared. Your efforts will be valuable to a great many, and hopefully these brothers will have cause to remember this one day soon. The points you raised were well chosen . . . particularly the blood fractions and judicial process. They were indefensible not unanswerable . . . there is a subtle difference. A "spiritual shepherd" should have a sound bible-based explanation and be able to "make a defense for the faith" You used the scriptures better then all three of them combined. OUTLAW is right . . . you kicked ass. Of course, they won't see it like that.

Sadly . . . one thing that stood out for me was the impenetrable nature of a controlled mind . . .

Your last statement laced with profanity and over the top adjectives leads me to believe you have an issue wit the supposition of the existence of an almighty God.

"Laced" huh? . . . I only see one profanity actually . . . and it's not directed at you. But your problem is becoming ever clearer. Read your own posts if you want over-the-top adjectives.

I'm glad you at least acknowledged the existence of Almighty God was merely "supposition." We don't all "suppose" the same as you do. Thank you. Case closed.

No, I don't have any issues with your beliefs, but I'm not here to preach my doctrine.

Once you get your head around that . . . you will realise you are simply preaching your own religious superstitions and that Jwfacts is simply stating the jwfacts. The validity of your logical fallacy accusation relies on an invisible deity being established fact. Surely even you can see how fucked up that is.

Your argument decends even below semantics . . . a new low for intelligent debate.

If jwfacts is so blatantly deceptive and misleading when it comes to something as basic as magic/miracles, it makes me call into question everything on their website.

This is a logical fallacy known as "false analogy". It is defined as: "an argument based upon an assumed similarity between two things, people, or situations when in fact the two things being compared are not similar in the manner invoked."

I disagree . . . the example given validates the analogy.

Egyptions . . . priests

Moses . . . priest

Egyptians . . . turn staffs into snakes

Moses . . . turns staff into snake

Added to that the entire scenario is played out in the same place, at the same time. How similar does it have to be?

The only difference lies in the belief that the Egyptians used "magic" and Moses used "God's power" When worshippers of the "true god" perform magic it's a "miracle by the power of God" . . . when anybody else does it's "magic"

To find the logical fallacy requires a well constructed confirmation bias.

How old does someone have to get, to gain immunity for blood-guilt for being a part of JWs?

threads arise were elderly jw's are discussed, and we see thoughts that it's ok to be a jw if it makes them happy, or that it would be cruel to tell them ttatt after having spent their entire lives as a jw.. on the flip-side, other threads discuss teens who commit suicide after their immediate families (including their own grand-parents) shun them, as does everyone else in their kh.

the outrage rises to the point where the tendency is to accuse anyone who's a part of the organization of sharing in the blood-guilt.

that actually makes sense to me: jws claim that even being a cook in the military violates the neutrality principle, since it frees up someone else to carry a weapon; hence being a member of the military in any capacity is sharing in the blood-guilt.

I think maybe we're using the word bloodguilt to describe guilt by association (without malice as cj said), and applying the strict JW interpretation of the implications. But the level of responsibility must depend on individual culpability, which has many levels, with R&F drones firmly placed at the bottom IMO. More is asked from those to whom more is given . . . ha.

ok, so even if laws are to be written on people's hearts vs spelled out into lawbooks, there's going to have to be some laws in the new system of things, right?

i say we get the ball rolling and brainstorm what they should be: after all, none of us got invited to the party anyway but since there just ain't going to be any party, why let that spoil our fun?

so, the theme is laws to be in effect in the new system.
