If one assumes that the illustration of the rich man and Lazarus was in fact spoken by Jesus, then I find it very hard to support the idea that he didn't believe in some sort of spirit that survives death. Peacefulpete had a good thread about that recently.

it doesnt mention a immortal soul though.so was he calling back a soul to a body or was he simply reanimating a machine that stopped working?

like rebooting a computer after its crashed ...all the information is still stored on it and it carrys on working as normal.

however the idea that 144,000 humans go to heaven and where theres a flesh body theres a spirit body ..begas to ask ...if information is removed from the body transfered into a none physical life form.isnt that the same as a soul ?

passing technicall and religious nit picking over the form and make up of a soul whats the differance between removeable human essence and a soul?

made me think about a book of design history which explains the progression from arachic to modern design .i amazed to see all the designs we use today rooted in ancient design. early art tended to used for religious expression or have some religious spiritual side to it. those early forms were reused and redesigned to bcome the art we see today all around us .the book shows the progression of pagan symbols into later architectual features and modern design.

as i read i began to see that were are living in a world where even in the curtains in homes are covered with modern versions of pagan symbols and religious expression from ancent days ...then even your cushion cover could be evil.

i always loved history and ancient things specially eastern stuff.but this was frowned on.i threw out my temple pictures and thew away my genuine ancient statues to be safe from the pagan /demonic influence.... only to find years later that my cushion cover is pagan...this is probably the reason i fell into appostacy

is the WTS aware this hidden evil? could this be the start of a mass cushion and soft furnishings cull ? could this be the start of bro's and sis's reporting anyone with a lotus and palmette wall paper border? i do hope so

next time you visit a home make sure to point out the pagan curtain design.or make a fuss and refuse to stand on the rug as it has pagan designs on it and express surprise at there having it.

The Society has given up on "holiday witnessing"

up until a few years ago......every dec. km had a part encouraging everyone to go in the ministry on the holidays.......christmas day, etc.. no one ever got too excited about it in our cong.

.........it was pretty much a joke to everyone even when commenting on it during the meeting part.. that no longer seems to be the case..........haven't seen any parts like this for a few years now......i guess they've given up completely.. the meeting part usually included some "fine experiences"......but i have heard exactly the opposite from some who actually tried it one time.. have any of you ever went in service on christmas day?

hard as i tried, i could not find any reference to baptism in the ot (old testament to christians, hebrew scriptures to jovah's witless).. i know that previous to john the baptist, many religions, mysteries and cults baptized their initiates mostly either in blood, or in water.

never the jews at that time or now.

for the remision of sins, they just sent a goat to the desert.. jesus did not obviously start the baptism thing.

Star of Bethlehem

the bible, only in matthew(i think) speaks of the star that the astrologers followed to find the baby jesus.

the wts has claimed that this star obviously was a product of satan, since the astrolgers first wound up in jersusalem, met herod, who conspired with them to locate the baby.

after that, the astrologers continued on to bethlehem.. a couple of questions:.
