I think it's in Daniel (part 1 or 2).....Don't hold me to that though. I found it on the web and I remembered how hilarious it looked.

Weird JW Dreams
by MrFreeze ini think it's a given that most of us who have left, have had dreams about still being jw's or doing jw related things, even years after we left.
i had one of those last night.
it involved getting a hotel for the next district convention and then it skipped ahead to when i was attending.

Actually, just last night I had one, and like yours, I also had the beard I have now and felt akward. But it took a very strange twist. Everyone at the hall was drinking alcohol. In fact, they were passing them out during the meeting like flight attendants. People were drinking rum and coke, rum and juice, and beer. Then there was this part where a military officer walked in and put his hand on the Bible and started reciting an oath while the whole congregation repeated after him. The oath was also written in the back of the old song book and those that didn't know it, could just follow along. I can't remember what the oath said though. I woke up saying "What the hell was that?!?!"

They all look alike now.
by AK - Jeff infunny the way our minds unwind and refocus after leaving a high control religion.. when i first left the jdubs i saw them more closely to what the entire world sees them i suppose, but not truly clearly at those early stages.
they still looked to me to be 'good people' but misguided.
as time went on, though the misguided feature remained, the 'good people' supposition faded.

Amen! (no pun).... I too am slowly coming to the realization that my friend was imaginary. The invisible man in the sky is the grown ups version of Santa Claus. I watched the documentary "Religulous" last night (Great film! Highly recommend!)...and in the movie, Bill Maher asks a religious man if he belives in Santa Claus and the man said "no I don't". Bill says "of course not right? I mean the idea of a fat man traveling the world in one night sliding down chimneys and dropping presents in every house in the world is ridiculous! But an invisible man in the sky who listens to millions of people murmuring in his ear all at once, now THAT I get." He was being sarcastic of course, and the religious man had a serious look on his face.

Hey I just noticed something on youtube
by fade_away inwhen i'm bored i look up jw related videos wether it's anti jw or pro jw.
i noticed that every time i comment on a video that is anti jw my comment is immediately displayed.
but usually when i comment on a video that is pro jw, i get a message that says "comment pending approval".

When I'm bored I look up JW related videos wether it's anti JW or pro JW. I noticed that every time I comment on a video that is anti JW my comment is immediately displayed. But usually when I comment on a video that is pro JW, I get a message that says "Comment Pending Approval". Sometimes I can't even comment on them cause it says "Comments Disabled". Are the JW video uploaders afraid of the public's opinion of their videos? Cause the Ex JWs don't seem to mind people's comments on theirs. Why post a video and not allow comments or only allow certain comments. That's like shoving your beliefs in people's face and then covering your ears and singing "La di la di la! Cant hear you!"

My mother-in-law threatened my wife when she was a teen. Her mother said that if she decided to stop attending the meetings, she'll throw her out of the house. My parents never threatened me, but I knew that if I left, they will begin an unbearable guilt trip that will last for as long as I lived with them. I know because whenever I said I wanted to stay home, my dad will have a long talk with me that would leave me feeling evil and rotten for ever admitting I didn't want to go. It was more of a psychological technique they had to get me to go to the meetings. That hurt me in my soul as much as a beating with a belt.

sorry about that...... i meant to say Im having a great time with the "dark side" of the family so far. The ex jw side. Im meeting some in-laws my wife and I were told to always stay away from. They are great people and are very hospitable. They even lend us their car to go to Whistler mountains. We're just hanging out having some drinks and talking about our experiences as former JWs. I've heard some great stories...some kinda shocking to say the least. It feels good to finally find some family we can connect with and feel free to be ourselves.
