  Horror of horrors.....

  i know that while being a witness, we were not really allowed to watch horror movies, or anything that smacked of demonism.

  anything supernatural.

  my question is, what movie or movies, since leaving the society, has really scared or upset you?

  Movies I get scared by...well, there are the Freddy Kreugar series, The Shinning I never was able to watch - too scared... The Sixth Sense was very interesting,
  Schindlers List & the Diary of Anne Frank were 2 that scared me most as they were about events that man did to man - and that can be more horrifiing than anything the movies can think up.
  Silence of the Lambs was scary as was "The Hand That Rocks the Cradle"
  I won't watch Hannible - I read the book - it was too graphic for me!!

  Our town just got hit by terrorists!!!!!!!!!!

  my boss just called on a cell phone - he went to arby's for lunch and 3 people of arabic decent ran in an threw some sort of chemical on the floor and ran out.

  us 41 was closed and he is being quarantined.

  i am worried - hope he is ok. hopefully this is a fluke, but i just don't know.

  Does anyone know about....

  okay, i've seen lots of posts with references to this subject, but does anyone know of the percentage of child molsetations, or incest that occurs as an average in the dub org??.

  i'm trying to get a handle as to how big of a problem?or how common a problem, this is for the children who have been raised in this enviroment.. anyone who can help me to understand - thanks in advance!!.

  Funny..I had forgotten about the lashing they did to the Catholic Church! my question is also to find others who have had to deal with this issue.. Thankyou Blondie...I had never looked into that site..but I will be looking now too.

  I guess if they represented this to the outside world - they would have to admit they were the same as the Catholic Church..no a messanger of God huh??

  Hey There ! All You Disfellowshipped Ones!

  is your anger with the jw religion due mainly to the fact that you have been df'd?

  is it possible that persons who post here who are not disfellowshipped can feel as angry as those who are being shunned and who are therefore being effectively gagged?.

  is the df'ing policy of the wtbts the main reason that ex-jw's seem to go all out to get other witnesses out of the org?

  Wow! what loaded questions!
  Okay, I was not D'fd..I left and if I had the chance to get those who I came to care about out - I'd do it in a heart beat!! It does make me angry that those who are to e your "Brothers & Sisters" no will no longer associate with me or acknoledge my existance. Thankfully I have moved away from the area that I was very active in.
  As for why I feel that I'm angry at the society - I think its the combination of a lot of things...
  1. the practice of shunning
  2. the false sense of brotherhood
  3. the cult like way of secrecy
  4. mind control and opression of those in the org ( ie. the feeling of not being worth anything)
  5. treatment of the children and pain caused to them due to the practices
  6. double standards ( elders can do this you can't)
  7. lack of real help from the "elders and shepperds of the flock"
  8 supressiion of free thinking amoung the congregation

  this is just a start, I could go on and on.

  i feel sorry for all jw's who get sucked in by the thinking "we will love you as long as you are good enough for jah.

  " but, i feel worse for the children.

  adults are able to decide for themselves, whether it's a religion that they want to persue.

  I really hurt at times for the amout of pain I caused my children to suffer for several years while in the Org. I can only do the best I can to make their remaining years as children the best so that it will erase the pain as much as I can.
  Last year was the first Christmas for us in about 6 or 7 years..and it was huge! (we couldn't walk through the living room!!) With Lots of friends and family (the real fun!!).
  I'm fortunate that my family was not in the org. - My x 's family is though, with the exception of my x and his 2 younger sisters (who are still close with me)

  (((((((Sweettone,Tatiana, Dan, Dibs and all others who went through a Jdub childhood))))))))

  Just remember - you can create the childhood now you never had (therapy session talking here) and Let the kids have lots of fun now.
  (that means the kid in you too!)

  Welcome. please keep asking all of the questions of the WTBS that you can. We here are trying to get our lives back, and to help our fellow "Brothers & Sisters" to do the same. Its hard to get back out, so my advice to you is BE VERY CAREFUL !!!

  Question everything and don't just take their answers for the only ones..ask us here!!
