  Anyone else go to special talk?

  well today was the day of yet another special talk.

  you know the ones where everyone in the world is supposed to get the same one.. anyway, i noticed very little special about this talk which was about keeping jehovahs fearsome day close at hand or something like that.. it was the standard doom and gloom but arent we lucky we have a hope kind of talk and was nothing new except for one thing.

  there was no mention about the generation passing away.

  Strange Brew (fluff)

  wanted to be sure my fluff was clearly labeled as such.. something in chat last night got me to thinking about some of the strange mixed drinks i have willingly partaken of over the years.see if anybody can beat these.... (4) trash can punch-usually mixed in large quantities consisting of red hawaiian punch,mello yellow,pieces of fresh fruit,and ample quanities of everclear.

  (3)cherry limeaides w/vodka.

  (2)dr pepper w/brandy.

  Hummm.. Interesting ....
  I always liked a shot of a hemmoraging brain- that is strawberry schnapps, Bailey's irish cream poured in from the edge, and grenidine..Yummy!!

  Or..Pepsi and slowgin...
  but I lik wines best...

  GOSSIP In the Kingdom Hall

  the overwhelming amount of gossip that circulated through my kingdom hall was a major factor in my decision to stop attending meetings.

  every meeting, every day of field service, and every gathering was plagued with vicious rumors that people told to keep themselves entertained.

  surprisingly, the pioneers and elder's wives were the worst of everyone.

  I would say that the gossip mill was running on overdrive when my
  x-husband got disfellowshipped - he ran off with one of the prominent elders families neices (his family was well known ther too- we had just moved to the area and I knew noone - not having been raised "in' or in he area)...and they knew all about it at the hall

  - I couldn't bear to face them. So I quit going. ( I had had several experiences of Elders wives gossiping in the old cong) Aparently - those things that are told to the elders are not kept privy - they tell their wives who thrive on the info - and that only they "know the whole story" - mostly the wrong info too!

  Once away - I started to question alot of things..It took me about 6 months of not going to realize how much of a cult it all was...

  Now I am at peace and free from the WTBS and loving every minute of it!

  JW's and Marriage

  i am wondering how many jw's stay in a marriage because they have to?

  i mean i know there are happy marriages out there (somewhere i am sure), but i have run across several jw wives who are just waiting on their significant other to commet "the act" so they can divorce them and move on with their lives.. divorce has become less of a taboo thing in the org, but it is still frowned upon and people that do divorce, even on the scriptural grounds, are somewhat stigmatized.

  so i guess my question is what do you think the divorce rate would be if jw's could get divorced for any grounds with no repercussions?

  Although I had a pretty good marriage as far as "dub's" go - that is until my x ran off with his mistress...
  My 2 sister-in-laws stayed in horrible abusive marriges until just recently..both were raised in but never became true"dubs" - I was ostricized byt the cong. when my x left..Oh well..better off for me - I moved home and married my childhood sweetheart - D"ad myself and am living happily ever after..
  My sister-in-laws are doing better - thanks to some reality lessons and support from my husband and I...
  To bad that many Dubs just don't have sex ans save the whole problem..

  Letting JW relatives go....revisited

  some of you might remember i posted my thoughts on why, after years of shunning, and me continually trying to establish contact with the jw relatives that do this, i finally decided it was healthier for me to let them go and stop doing that.

  this was especially true in the case of my younger brother, who was more like a best friend.

  we spent a lot of time together before my extricating myself from the watchtower, including vacations and lots of weekends.

  I am so glad to hear that the door has opened for you some. I too like to keep an open door to allow those who I've lost due to the "borg" to come in again if they choose.
  I am glad to see that the pain was gone fo you.

  Remeber - keep it on your terms though - don't let them suck you back in..

  Puppy Love

  my dog died today.... and i am very sad.

  i got him as a 7 week old puppy 11 years ago and i loved him dearly.. i brought him to the vet.

  to be put to sleep, that was so hard, but he had diabetes, had lost at least 25 pounds in the last 3 months, drank gallons and gallons of water, woke me up 2 or 3 times during the night to go out, could barely walk anymore, and he was blind...

  I am so very sorry. 11 yrs is avery long time and the companionship of a dog is so very hard to explain... I still miss my sheppard that had to be put down 2 yrs ago - she was my protector.

  Bizarre religious doctrines

  i am aware of false religious doctrines in the w.t.s.. i never really considered the possibility of others also being manipulated by different religious organizations.. i work with a woman who is very devout in her beliefs.

  the women in her church are not permitted to use birth control, cut their hair, wear makeup or wear jewelry.

  they may sing but no music or musical instruments are permitted.

  What Religion is she??

  I remember when my parents took me to Liberty Baptist College - and I found out I had to wear skirts, no dating by myself- only double dating was allowed, no signs of affection - not even holding hans, a curfew of 9pm ect.. I ran out of there!!

  Instead they went off accusing me of all sorts of things!
  This isn't the first time I've been accused by them....and been inocent!

  green is for the palms they waved at him and he entered into jerusalem.. purple is for the wine he poured and blessed before he faced his final test.. red is for the precious boold he shed from the crown of thorns placed on his head.. black is for the sky as he died in the cross, sufering to redeem our loss.. pinkl, yellow, and orange are for the dawn thet morn when the tomb was empty and hope was reborn.. white is for the dazzling light that awed all who saw him arisen - the son of god,.

  Jehovah witnesses DESTROY happy families!

  jehovah witnesses destroy many otherwise happy families by their cruel and inhumane shunning.. the bryant families(ca.& or) are a very real example of how shunning as enforced by elders and the watchtower really messes up what could otherwise be happy families.. will those fat heads on the governing body ever stop and think about how their sad and tragic misuse of shunning has led to untold suffering for so so many people,.. people who they owe,... no, people who they should feel love and compassion for because they have trusted them with their lives.. there is all kinds of wickedness in this world and i think the governing body is right up there close the the most wicked by their use of manipulation though lies and guilt.

  one day i'm sure they will be held accountable.. oh god please bring their own wickedness crashing back on their own heads, because they keep tearing your people to pieces with their lies and the shunning of innocent people, please bring their own form of wickedness crashing back on their own heads.. .

  join the watchtower or you will die.. only jehovah's witnesses have the truth all other religions evil and from the devil.. you must beleive the watchtower or you're going to die a painful death forever, isn't that really good news?.

  I Agree with those who realize how damaging the "shunning" is to the Families - and I NEVER Understood the reasoning for it.

  It is just a vile way for the Borg to continue to keep its claws into its people - and inspire thier loyalty!

  A HATEFUL practice put into a Religious stetting - Discusting that they consider it Christian!
