When I was a very young child , our old hall had windows, and I always made a point to sit by a window. Only one side of the hall had them.
It is amazing how much you can learn from watching an ant colony carry leaves back and forth for two hours on Sunday. Well, it wasnt long before they boarded the windows up and I had to find other distractions for myself. Mostly I drew on the maps in the front and back of my green Bible. Remember that dinosaur in it!!!!! But the point is I dont think they want us to be distracted by "the world",
they want us to forget that there is life outside of those walls and those boarded up windows.

Thanks for the new info from the wt mags, I am hoping to get my hands on this one!!! I have a friend that will get it for me, that person is still in and this is mind blowing!!!!!!!!!! When I first started questioning wt teaching , I also started reading the Bible on my own , and that teaching about the great crowd did not jive with what I was reading in Rev. myself . Here they ( borg) go again, making another change , new light , liers!!!! I cant keep up with all
the mistakes they have made about prophecy but it is sickening !!! -

What's in a name?
by dmouse insome interesting comments about the confusion caused by using multiple identities in the last day or two.. i was wondering, as there are some strange sounding tags about, what is the story, if any, behind your screen names?
and what are your favourite alternatives (i thought about being dungeonmaster).
i am 'dmouse' because it's a shortened version of my full name, dean moorhouse, and i used to love the (uk)cartoon dangermouse when i was a kid.

I love the Eagles and that song LyinEyes was a childhood favorite.
Although the song is speaking of a woman cheating on her husband, even as a kid there were lyrics in the song I could indentify with.
Such as feeling like you are under someones eles control and you
cant see your way out. Also I led a double life growing up and I hated to lie , I saw my self as I really was ,but with dad being an elder it was hard. Now the song still applies because I am not really who I want to be yet, I do plan on d/a myself soon and I wont hide who I really am anymore. Then I can be TrueEyes!!!!!!!!!!! -

Ok this is wild turkey's wife, that bastard!!!!!!!!!! HEHEHEH
I was sitting like a good wife and mother with my three bad as hell
kids, trying not to beat the hell out of 'em while he was "Working"!!
I have known this all along !!! Let me tell you what eles he did to pass the time: walk 2 miles to a coffee shop with another brother (both elders) , that way no one could find them!, sitting at the cemetary, hiding off in a dark back room chattting, would occasionally
take our youngest child as bait , to get him some food from Mcdonalds
to "quiet him down" ( coffee break from turkey and his elder friend had to tag along for support!!!!). Hummm I could go on they knew they were being watched so they had quiet an imagination. The other elders kids would be looking for their dad and my oldest son would get pissed off as to why his dad wasnt sitting down like he had too!
I always was honest and laughed and said I guess they are at Hooters!
By the way when I caught them in the cemetary , they both said not to worry they were not with bad association, becauce these folks are not in the world either!!!! I think I will smack him for leaving me with those bratty kids of his!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good one turkey!!!!!!!! -

Have any of you who were raised Jw, after d/f or d/a , been to other churches? And if so , did you convert ? Were you afraid to go to another organized religion? Have any of you had success on " going it alone", so to speak, praying for Holy Spirit and feeling you are getting answers to what you read in the Bible? I am trying to do it on my own, I sometimes feel I am getting no where, other times I do feel something happening, my eyes are opening up. Just wanted to know how you guys feed your spiritual hunger.

You know you were a little girl of the 70's/80's
by closer2fine in1. you wore that rainbow shirt that was half-sleeves and the rainbow went up one sleeve, across your chest and down the other.
2. you made baby chocolate cakes in your holly hobbie easy bake oven.
you washed them down with the snoopy snow cone machine.

omg!!!! i peed my pants on this one girls!!!!!!!!!!! Holy cow cant beleive what a 70's 80's kid i was and how i actually had to smile at some of it all. I had the annie type hair, trying to do the wings things and it never worked. The roller rink was the only place to excape into the real world for a few hours , if i was a good girl , on Friday. Got to listen to the "sex inducing" disco music. Boy that was good music back then!!!!!!!!! And the disco ball, how romantic. And by the way I love Luke Duke and Starksy off of starsky and Hutch, and I prefered to be Mary Ann and I wanted the Professor in a bad way. Oh course the only posters we were allowed to have were of animals and I had lots of horses and the one with the kitten hanging on to a branch , "Hang in there Baby" . One was special to me
it was a beautiful white horse running free, it said , " if you love something set it free, if it comes back to you, it's yours." I still live by that saying . I had a hippy mom, and she painted big giant flowers on my bedroom wall, with the big white canapy bed with butterflies. OOOHhhhhhhhhh those were the days. Thanks so much for the trip down memory lane, I had a good laugh. -

Whats your fav song or band?
by Beans inother than the kingdom songs i`m sure we must have squeezed in some time to listen to the radio between territories and on the way to the mettings.. my musical tastes vary from classical to heavy head banging music, basically i like everything!i love the cult, rush, van halen, boston, etc anything from the 80`s retro era.. but my favourite song would be everything counts by depech mode and she sells sanctuary by the cult!.

Can you guess what my fav band is? The Eagles of course. I like Bob Segar, the Allman brothers band, all southern rock. I also like all kinds of music: country, blues, rap, . But the Eagles still rock for me, the words to their songs have alot of meaning, they will never grow old in my book !!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

What Qualities Do You Look For In A Man?!?!?!
by ladonna inlilacs started a fluffy thread on what "men look for in a woman".
i think it only fair that we ladies have the opportunity to have our say!!!!!.
and.....it's time i had a fluff post.
-
LyinEyes
Well I would tell you all the physical qualities I like in a man but i dont want to make ya'll think I am a slut. So use your imagination.
But I like the rough , tough, intelligent guy who has a deep soul.
I like a sense of humor, and a man that is strong enough to be my man.
And that friends is no easy task, so Wild Turkey pretty much is perfect for me. Plus he gives me alot of freedom, and we are best friends and we are growing in knowledge together. The ride is bumpy at times , ups and downs, but I love roller coasters!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

I started having doubts 9 months ago, that was also the last time I was in a Kingdom hall.
I was raised in it, and was dunked at age 15.
We have 3 kids, the oldest left with us, it was harder for me than for my husband to not feel quilt. Son , saw alot of the lies and hypocrisy before I did. -

You know , I have only been out for almost a year , and am still
recovering and going thru all of the hurdles of leaving. It has been hard, I was raised a witness and it was all I ever have know. But I've
come along way in a short time , and even thou I have hard days and many tears, I do have a sense of freedom and am learning who I really am. And the quote, To thine own self be true.... has become my motto
this last year. I am finially standing on my own two wobbly legs , but it's a start.
