i haven't been over here for a long time, looks pretty busy.. i am in a discussion on another board about the "donation" arrangement.
the jw's claim "all" literature is free, and nobody id pressured into "donating" for what they take from the hall.. now in my old congregation that wasn't so.
we were reminded all the time about "donations" and making sure we asked for donations in the field service.
Hello Andyman,
nice question...that comes up every few months.
It is true "no one is put under pressure to donate " but as you
know it also, if not enough contributions arereceived at the
literature & magazines dep. an part is made to the cong., in the
service meeting, to...encourage the "donation", "contribution" or
if you prefer "the generosity " etc.etc.

e/mail fellow jehovahs witnesses, jw family & friends, doctors, public:.
1 blood usage acts 15:20 says abstain from blood but 1 sam 14:32-5 says .
2 god's name and closeness to him: christ says call god our "father".
Hello LHD,
good stuff, it should circulate
in a thousand of copies everywhere.

sports illustrated, in its june 25, 2001 issue on page 76, reports that jerry hairston of the baltimore orioles had been "baptized as a jehovah's witness" last july.. at times, according to the artcile, hairston's passionate play on the field, charactarized by end-over-flips of his bat after strikeouts and exasperated shrugs during arguments with umpires, gives other players the impression of cockiness on his part.
i'm a passionate person.".
the article mentions that after hairston slammed his bat to the ground after popping out on a roger clemens fastball, he got a long staredown from clemens.
Hello DB,
thanks for the post.
Here in Europe to be a professional in sports,...
it not for JW! (Strongly discouraged ...)
Again 2 different ways.

parking lot disfellowshipping .
[i have changed the sequence of the justice series.
i will post the other titles later.].
Hello Amazing,
as usual a very good story...although
with the same, sickly ending.
to Boozerunner:
"They also show that imperfect men, using the WTS guidelines are ill-equipped to render effective help when faced with with these situations.
And, if you have been reading posts that deal with how the WTS routinely covers up cases of child molestation when it comes to elders, it shows the double standard that is applied R&F vs. ELDERS.
That is in stark contrast to the scriptures which show that those in positions of responsibility are to be held to a high standard of morality, and therefore punished accordingly. Even secular governments follow this principle to some degree."
A very good comment, thanks for it.

i'm just wondering if it is because i have changed and have gained my freedom from the watchtower enslavement or i just don't care anymore or is it that i have been exposed to too much of the same old complaints about the borg and all the false prophecies and the lies?.
i must admit i still get pleasure from reports of the watchtower walls starting to crumble al over the civilized world so i guess i'll continue to pop in from time to time.. as far as trying to de-program and rescue the poor unfortunate brainnumbed watchtower slaves, i think it's a total waste of time after all how do get through to people who prefer to believe in the lies when they know they are lies but they just don't want to see the real truth about the "truth(tm)".
i gues they don't want to see the real truth because it would force them to start thinking for them selves again and for some people that is just too much of a burden to bear.
Hello everyone,
To Older Tom,
I'm sorry to hear it but, like many others , I do not get bored reading
posts on this board.
To proplog2:
"There are now many voices on the internet who have become skilled at refuting Watchtower reasoning. A JW doesn't have a chance anymore of entering a discussion without coming out looking stupid. The only JW's who try to say anything in these forums are those who stumble on them for the first time. "
A very nice way to say it.
To Farkel: I do like your statement!

as ive mentioned in other posts, i felt obligated to go to the dc (in hamilton) this weekend to help my family with my aging mom, who in my opinion just goes for the social outing because she is physically not able to stay awake for more that 1/5 th of the whole sessions except intermissions.. i know others have posted their observations of the dc they attended but id like to make an addition from things that just jumped right out at me and made me go argggghhhhh!.
and btw....i felt some of the comments made seemed to be as though they were answering their justification of some of the things being brought out on the internet, including here.. on friday, even in talks that were not about higher education, they managed to slip in their subtle propaganda, as in:.
- bob alton, said peter and john were outspoken about gods word and were unlettered and ordinary men they didnt need higher education to speak wondrous things of god.
Hello Had Enough,
Thanks for the DC notes and your comments. Worth all your efforts.

while i was an active jw, i remember so often that whenever we had a question that couldn't be answered, we would hear: "just wait a little bit and you can be sure it will be brought out in an article soon.
" and sure enough, it happened just like that, time and time again.. my topic title question has been rolling around in my head ever since hearing the talks and the drama dialogue as i posted earlier on the topic "dc subtle propaganda".. the wts obviously knows many of its members are lurking here and other sites, and their lies are getting more exposure than ever before, and i feel as though the org is keeping tabs on these sites.
many here have been telling their experiences and life stories revealing many skeletons from the wts closet, openly criticizing the attitudes and harsh actions of the org.. these are just a few of the phrases hammered at repeatedly as reminders at the dc this past weekend:.
Hello everyone,
an interesting question,
To amazing:
" I think the Society has reacted to many things said or written by former JWs. I have had discussions with some who have written books on the topic of JWs, and they felt that some of the changes in the Watch Tower Society doctrines, policies, book revisions, and operations was due in part to what they had revealed. Likewise, I have no doubt that the Society has people assigned to keep tabs on the Internet, if not officially, at least unofficially, and report on what they find that is of concern."
I do agree with your statement. The WTS keeps an eye on the NET!
To paradix:
" Free conscience is not a good new.." A very good point.
To Had Enough:
"…to many details have been backed up and proven that the real truth cannot be denied. I don't see a lot of raving lunatics as the WTS has portrayed apostates to be. I see sound reasoning, logic, wisdom, sensible thinking and deep feelings of distain for the injustices carried on for too long."
A very nice way to express the reality of the actual situation. Thanks.
To Ozziepost:
"..And how would they know what the 'opposers' were claiming if they hadn't had someone monitor these sites?…"
Very logical and TRUE.

in two paragraphs in the june 15/00 wt qfr on blood, tertullian is quoted a few times in the 5th and 6th paragraphs on page 29.

i have been trying to find the exact quotes from tertullian.
Hello Hawkaw,Alan F. and Maximus
