  Germany, the "truth" is worth lying...

  the multinational printing empire and con operation in brooklyn better known as the watchtower society is in a desperate struggle to appear mainstream and normal to the general public all over the world.

  after over 100 years of publishing the most insane drivel and countless failed predictions this is of course an uphill struggle.. what makes it even harder is that they merely want to foster the illusion that the watchtower society is mainstream.

  they have no wish for it to actually be mainstream.

  The CO's visit

  this past week was the visit of our circuit overseer.

  i know what you are thinking so before i post some of his comments that i personally found interesting, i only went to keep peace in the family and not give rise to suspicion about my true feelings.

  so with that said, here are some things that grabbed my attention.. 1) his talk thursday nite was about being successful and how the world's view of success is far different than the organizations.

  Thanks for the topic. I do find very interesting:

  "The society is very concerned about the number missing from the meetings. In fact, our CO said that in our circuit, there is an average of 2 to 10 publishers that have "left the truth" each time he goes back to a congregation. He visits approximately 20 congregations twice a year, so a minimum of 2(pubs) times 20 (congs) times 2 (visits per year) adds up to approximately anywhere from 80 (minimum) to 200 (maximum) people leaving the borg a year in our circuit alone. "

  3) His final talk was geared toward those in the congregation called "passive attenders" and how if they had ANY doubts in their minds that this was not God's organization, they had better do whatever it takes to prove to themselves that Jehovah is using the FDS as his channel…"

  To Peterstride:

  "If the WTS had the truth and nothing but the truth, they wouldn't be afraid of others reading whatever material they wanted to read, since they would see right through it, and prove in their minds that the WTS was the truth.
  
  But the moment any religious cult orders its members not to read anything that contradicts them, warning bells should be going off."

  Good points.

  I wonder what they will come up with!

  Who controls the WTS?

  many exjws, inactive or those still in but see the many problems that are associated with the org keep asking when will the society change.

  they keep wondering whether the gb is aware of the problems and if it is, why does it not do anything.

  certain gb members might even comment privately about some misgivings they may have toward certain policies or doctrine, yet fail to act.. i believe there are a number of reasons, but the main ones are gb internal dynamics and external influence.. concerning gb internal dynamics, it has been known that in a tight knit authoritarian system, whether it be a dictatorship, committee based, or even sometimes democratic, the one that suggests a major change does so at his own peril.

  I just want to thank you for the material

  of your post. Your experience sound ..so familiar and the

  way you wrote it down ...very sad state of affairs having to

  deal with some . Very far away from Christ exemple, really

  lacking love and emphaty.

  Youy are a very courageous person, ... one should have that

  kind of attitude when dealing with "scribes and pharisees",

  well done! I do like also " a lot of twisting the scriptures".
