New Watchtower Propaganda and hate speech destroying families (Feb 2016 WT)
by Daniel1555 inthe following is a paragraph from the new february study watchtower article "learn from jehovah's loyal servants.".
7 a conflict of loyalties may arise when a close relative is disfellowshipped.
for example, a sister named anne [1] received a telephone call from her disfellowshipped mother.

The COBE of the cong we attended called me and left a vm, and also emailed both me and my husband. This all happened yesterday. He said he was checking in to see how our family was doing, which is a joke. If that is true, I wonder why did it take him 4 months to be so interested. Since we stopped attending, this is the first time he has attempted to contact us. Hmmmm....My guess is the CO will be visiting and he's trying to look good for his report to him or whatever it is they do.

Pbrow and Simon
That's what I said to my husband. I dont want to subject our kids to any more of that and we had to get out regardless of the consequences. Bad enough It took us a little while to deprogram our 3 year old, the other is just 1 so that's nothing to worry about thank goodness!. We had been telling him the same things we were being told at that age - everything is bad!! Birthdays are bad, Christmas is bad, this is bad, that is bad and on and on. But we apologized to him and told him it was ok to watch or listen to those things and like them. Now he just can't watch things that are not age appropriate including Caleb and Sofia, we threw that trash out!!
Perfect example. There is a channel here, Baby1, and there is a segment on in the morning with birthday wishes for that day. I would tell him 'no baby, no birthday, remember? Its bad.' So at first, and this is after we cut off all activity, when that came on he would look at me and say, 'birthday is on, change the channel mommy!' Broke my heart to see that I was beginning the harmful cycle. So I would tell him it's not bad and its ok to like it and sing along.
Fast forward to now, he is completely deprogrammed! He's had his first birthday celebration and loved it. He said it was his best birthday ever! He told me happy Halloween the other day and he is constantly talking about Christmas lol!! It makes me happy to know even though I didn't have a normal life our kids will. Oh, and not just holidays but EVERYTHING will be normal. Soooooo worth it!!

My First Birthday.....
by The Marvster ini awoken today and realised immidiately i'm 44 today... and after 3 years of being out, decided to acknowledge my birthday.... i'm off out to treat myself to a big hearty breakfast with cup of tea in the local weatherspoon's by the massive pond full of weird bird-life, later today i'm giving myself a gift of a 90 minute relaxation session in a float tank down by canary wharf in london.... only really have 2 close friends (it's a slow process trusting people agian) and they probably won't be able to see me today, but i'm sure i'll have a belated surprise from them both.... the first thing i did when i remembered was to rush to the computer, connect to the web and put on stevie wonder's 'happy birthday', as i listen to it, tears stream down my face... all those years of my life stolen ' but..... i'm free....'.

To respond to everyone, I agree with a lot of what you said. There is no love in that religion at all and what's worse they are out of touch with reality and what life really is all about. It's a sheltered existence and I just couldn't do it anymore. I am so happy that I woke up from it and have my hubby with me too. -

Not long after learning TTATT, my hubby and I decided it would be best for us to fade. His entire family is in, but not in the same cong. as us. We made it to the Region Convention and one Sunday meeting after that. The RC was easy. We have 2 toddlers so we had plenty of reasons to get up during the day and leave early before the session ended. But that last meeting did us in! We left feeling like we did not belong anymore. Everything was under the microscope for us now. The entire time we were giving each other looks when we heard things from the platform, watching moms place watchtowers on their toddlers lap instead of a children's book or toy, the obligatory 'hi how are you' surface conversations going on before and after the meeting and other observations. It was an odd feeling since we both were born in so this had been all we knew. It was a pretty silent car ride home and at one point I looked at him and said 'we aren't going to fade are we?' It was more of a statement than a question because I knew what we were both thinking. He said 'nope, we're done.' We haven't been back since, we just stopped all activity with no regrets whatsoever. Best decision we ever made!! -

Paranoia after today's Watchtower
by Truthexplorer inboy oh boy did i feel paranoid at today's wt.
not only are we to watch our associations outside of the congregation, but also watch our associations 'within' the congregation.
this was emphasised by the wt study conductor.

Yup, dealt with this growing up also. We were considered " good association" so our parents pretty much was on us to make sure we don't associate with this one or that one because they weren't regular in service or the meetings, etc. And these kids were in our classes and lived on our block and we genuinely liked them. Awful thing to do to people, especially children.
