"Friends" are gone
by BeautifulMind ini have (well had) an extremely small circle of jw friends.
lots of acquaintances and associates but 2 or 3 i would consider my true friends.
that list is now 0. yup, once i told them i no longer believe in the org and haven't for a long time, and their attempts to encourage me thru jw lingo and terminologies to "rely on jehovah" and not to "stray away" failed that was pretty much it.

Yup, once I told them I no longer believe in the org and haven't for a long time, and their attempts to encourage me thru jw lingo and terminologies to "rely on Jehovah" and not to "stray away" failed that was pretty much it. I haven't heard from them since. So the shunning has already begun - No disassociation, no disfellowshipping, just not believing or attending anymore. It's sad for them really, because I'm still the same person they became friends with, but they only see that I don't believe in the org so they have to cut back or off completely association.
I told the one I felt the closest to -we've been friends since the sandbox - that I am happier now than I had been in years since I stopped attending the meetings.. I asked if she was happy for me. The reply? "Nope. Because your happiness comes from not being happy in Jehovahs organization." Huh?? Really?? Wow...ok. So we were never truly friends. Friends are supposed to be happy for you regardless of the cause.
Thankfully, I have my hubby, my babies and my entire side of the family for love & support. More importantly I have my freedom to live my life. Anyway, I'm feeling a bit more comfortable on here, so thanks for taking the time to read my experience. Enjoy your Saturday!😉

New Watchtower Propaganda and hate speech destroying families (Feb 2016 WT)
by Daniel1555 inthe following is a paragraph from the new february study watchtower article "learn from jehovah's loyal servants.".
7 a conflict of loyalties may arise when a close relative is disfellowshipped.
for example, a sister named anne [1] received a telephone call from her disfellowshipped mother.

The COBE of the cong we attended called me and left a vm, and also emailed both me and my husband. This all happened yesterday. He said he was checking in to see how our family was doing, which is a joke. If that is true, I wonder why did it take him 4 months to be so interested. Since we stopped attending, this is the first time he has attempted to contact us. Hmmmm....My guess is the CO will be visiting and he's trying to look good for his report to him or whatever it is they do.

Pbrow and Simon
That's what I said to my husband. I dont want to subject our kids to any more of that and we had to get out regardless of the consequences. Bad enough It took us a little while to deprogram our 3 year old, the other is just 1 so that's nothing to worry about thank goodness!. We had been telling him the same things we were being told at that age - everything is bad!! Birthdays are bad, Christmas is bad, this is bad, that is bad and on and on. But we apologized to him and told him it was ok to watch or listen to those things and like them. Now he just can't watch things that are not age appropriate including Caleb and Sofia, we threw that trash out!!
Perfect example. There is a channel here, Baby1, and there is a segment on in the morning with birthday wishes for that day. I would tell him 'no baby, no birthday, remember? Its bad.' So at first, and this is after we cut off all activity, when that came on he would look at me and say, 'birthday is on, change the channel mommy!' Broke my heart to see that I was beginning the harmful cycle. So I would tell him it's not bad and its ok to like it and sing along.
Fast forward to now, he is completely deprogrammed! He's had his first birthday celebration and loved it. He said it was his best birthday ever! He told me happy Halloween the other day and he is constantly talking about Christmas lol!! It makes me happy to know even though I didn't have a normal life our kids will. Oh, and not just holidays but EVERYTHING will be normal. Soooooo worth it!!

My First Birthday.....
by The Marvster ini awoken today and realised immidiately i'm 44 today... and after 3 years of being out, decided to acknowledge my birthday.... i'm off out to treat myself to a big hearty breakfast with cup of tea in the local weatherspoon's by the massive pond full of weird bird-life, later today i'm giving myself a gift of a 90 minute relaxation session in a float tank down by canary wharf in london.... only really have 2 close friends (it's a slow process trusting people agian) and they probably won't be able to see me today, but i'm sure i'll have a belated surprise from them both.... the first thing i did when i remembered was to rush to the computer, connect to the web and put on stevie wonder's 'happy birthday', as i listen to it, tears stream down my face... all those years of my life stolen ' but..... i'm free....'.
