now the wts has written a letter to all bodies of elders in germany:.

some of you may not have heard about my sister-in-laws brother.
he was a elder/37/married/no children and my sister-in-law's twin brother.. he took his life a couple of weeks ago.
no one was sure what was going on or what had happened.
Nat - our hearts go out to you and your family. Speaking from personal family experience, you never completely "get over" a family member's suicide (almost 4 years ago in our case). However, counseling, reading, getting support from real friends and the passage of time can help immensely.

Thought the story sounded a little familiar. My wife and I were on vacation a couple of years ago - flipping channels and believe we watched the video you referenced. At the time we were still attending infrequently but on our way out. I remember seeing RF interviewed, and they also cut to several interviews of a Society spokesperson filmed at a district convention. Seem to recall a statement to the affect that "JW's do not experience family problems like other religions - little or no divorce rate etc."
The part about the son who committed suicide before facing a JC hit close to home and was influential in getting us to continue our research.

personally, i believe they are one of the best bands ever to come into the music scene.
imho morrison was one of the greatest poets/musicians ever.
Jolly - had to respond to your post. Doors and Morrison were/are one of the best bands of all time. Sorry to say, never got to see them live. I moved to LA in 1972 from the midwest, so those early club shows were over by then. Their music is timeless though. Still get chills when I hear "Break on Through". My wife is a life long fan - in her opinion one of the best casting decisions was to have Val Kilmer play Morrison.

these da, letters of course are a requirement from god and have nothing to do with the solidification of any pharisaical legal position.. 11. from a study of biblical and secular evidence, we can conclude that the pharisees thought highly of themselves as guardians of the public good and the national welfare.
they were not satisfied that gods law was fundamentally clear and easily understood.

The narrow mindedness that labels and paints with the same brush any who question the twisted thinking of a man made organization who claims to speak for God sickens me. Certainly there are a large percentage who were forced to leave for doing "vile" things (again interpretational), there are an equal number who left because of doctrinal flaws, hypocrisy, and basic preservation of mental health.
In my case, it took the suicide of my only daughter to get me to wake up.
For those that want to go back - I say, if it works for you fine and good. I choose to never give up my freedom of thought or turn over my conscience to a group of judgmental, cultish etc. men. God is the only one I trust to read my heart.
I do not post very often - but today I felt a need to. Simon, thanks for this forum to vent, learn, listen and share.

i've just mentioned on another thread how in russia secret agents managed to get into high postions of authority in the society there in order to keep a watch on what they were doing.. i believe this has happened in other countries to.. so how about this, do the british and american goverments have infiltraitors in the society to keep a watch on them?.
it seems an obvious thing to do if you are in power, you somehow need to keep track of what fringe groups are doing.. could they even be high up in the org if they are there?.
there was an article in one of the newspapers this week that claimed over 1000 organisations in britian are involved in secret obsevations of individuals and groups for various reasons.. it seems possible that they would want to keep tabs on groups like the witnesses.. what do you think?
