Brum.....I got my 6 eggs in Somerfield you'll be pleased to know.
Princess....Yes this country is really screwy. You can buy a sofa from DFS, but not any milk from the supermarkets....... crazy
wandered down to tesco this evening, and took me about 2 minutes to understand why it was unusually packed solid.
of course its a bank holiday on monday and there might might be a run on bread/milk type of shortage.
why do people go crazy stocking up just because the stores will be closed for 1 day.

Re. UK humour, classics......I still love Dick Emery.....his "Mandy Dunnit" persona (Ooooh you are awful) and "Hettie" the sex starved spinster (Are you married?) base humour I know......but I loved/ love it.
i'm praying i'm not breaking any confidentialities here, but early this morning i got paged to attend a case in another part of the hospital of a woman who had mis-carried at 18 weeks.
i think in 12 years since being qualified i have never come up against anything so heart-wrenching.
just how do you cope/help with a couple trying to comprehend this?.

The woman was sat there just holding her baby, for a good 3 hours, before she went off to surgery. I've seen lots of nasty stuff with RTA's, assaults and cancer etc, all which are awful. But I don't think I was at all prepared for this. I've come home tonight, and can't seem to get it out of my head, guess I'm just trying to let off stress. It made me think even harder about the times when we all say what a crap day we've had, coz this or that didn't go right, when in reality, we really don't know how lucky the majority of us are. I'm sorry to post this awful thing, suppose I needed to vent a bit. Refuge in a beer.
did you ever reach a point where you don't have anything left to say and are unable to start any decent threads?
maybe it's the nice warm weather that just arrivied in quebec.

J.H. Say it ain't so!! To me, in going your own way for a bit, you seem to be showing a far too "independant spirit".... I'll be watching you're movements henceforth real closely. Enjoy that summer sun.
