This causes me some cognitive dissonance. It would seem that the FDS, while being hypocrital in this regard, have inadvertenly done the right thing.

I think I was looking for reassurance that I could go on living my life in the way that pleased me, without giving any thought to the one who created me. I didn't find that.
In the past three months, I've given more thoughts to things eternal than I have in a long time. I'm tired of living for myself. In brief moments of clarity, I grasp what it means to live for Christ Jesus; other thoughts seem to fade away. Work isn't as consuming, travel plans aren't as interesting. The plans I have to fill out my three score and ten pale in comparison to the love that someone who never met me has shown. That is the good news, and I see why people would want to share it.
I think those are just feelings of growing older. Or maybe it is a shift peoples attitude in general. Wouldn't that be nice. Look at all the old rich people starting to give away their fortunes. Bill Gates, Warren Buffett to name a couple. I saw an episode of 60 minutes where they are starting a club of sorts to encourage other rich people to do the same.

It does NOT mean you need to become a JW! Honestly I think the JW religion is one of the most selfish religions around. They rarely do anything for anyone even other JWs. And the only reason they do anything at all is because they think they will be buying themselves a ticket to the new system.

How does anxiety affect your heart rate?
by Splash in-- w54 4/15 p. 233 scriptural aspect of psychosomatic medicine --.
"doctors have found also that anxiety slows down the heart beat as much as 27 beats a minute.
the bible shows that men become faint out of fear and the heart may stop.luke 21:26 (men become faint out of fear)".

In other words, if you're reading a Watchtower magazine and you feel your heart start pounding, you are feeling the calming effects of the message.

Seems sketchy at best
When you click on the about link under the video you will see the description and a link that goes to a site called adfly.
Adfly
Get paid to share your links on the Internet! The site is http://adf.ly if you want to see for yourself.
Follow the link under the video and you will be watching an advertisement before you will be taken to the download.
The interesting thing is that the download has nothing to do with adfly and it is hosted on a completely different site that could be accessed directly.
The description for this video even says: "This link is third party and the Google Drive folder where it resides does not belong to me."
I probably made him $20 figuring that out :)
Looking at a number of outinthemeadows's posts I found a lot that are either links or requests on where to get a specific document.
Searching for topics posted on by outinthemeadows I found lnks to adfly posted by other fairly new members.

Blood Moons in the Passover being a sign... Debunked pretty easily
by ILoveTTATT inso there is lots of buzz on the internet, and lots of buzz probably even among jw's, that in 2014 in the passover there will be a blood moon... supposedly that's a sign.... .
what a load of bull.... .
a couple of seconds of critical thinking, and a little googling, and you reach the following conclusion:.

Interesting points, makes me wonder what the numbers would be like if they spent more time helping the weak who might actually look forward to a loving visit rather than spending all their time going "not at home" to "not at home".
Also why is it that they don't encourage the elders to work part time so they can fulfill their "responsibilities"?
Honestly in some ways I feel bad for the sincere elders,(Yes I've known a couple) who work full time, go to all the meetings, prepare talks, keep up their fake 10 hours a month, take care of their families and homes. On top of that they are supposed to do shepherding calls. Who has time and energy for all that?
